Adjustement of Status from K1

We just received our email notice that our packet for the AOS I-485 has been received via. When we receive the hard copy NOA1, will that be proof of anything in concern to her status?

We are trying to get a drivers license but with a few days left on her K1 Visa, the office says she isn't eligible for one. I believe that we need to wait to receive the approval of everything first, but not sure if anyone can shed some light on what the NOA1 says.

Thanks.

Michael

Depending on your state, you can get a drivers license based on the pending AOS (using the receipt notice as proof). You don't mention a state, so other members from that state couldn't help you unless you give us more details. Else, you may have to do the research yourself and take the relevant documents into the DMV to make your case. But, even Texas will give you a 1 year license with the pending AOS, so I'm sure other states have similar provisions. Else, most will do it if you show the EAD when it arrives.

I'm not sure what you're getting at about the NOA1 saying anything. it looks just like the I-129f petition receipt notice, it won't say anything about DL's...

In Georgia, I called Department of Drivers Services in January and was told my wife could not obtain a license until AOS approval. Now the USCIS wants a copy of her license (along with 17 other things). Yesterday I called DDS again, and was told that of course she is eligible for drivers license. I guess what I am saying is don't call, go to the office to try, and see what the outcome is.
