had interview, got paper "additional review"

Hi,

My husband had his interview today, I went with him of course.

Interviewer seemed nice enough. At the end he gave us a paper with "additional review" checked off.

What are the chances that his case will get approved after this? We're living at my mom's house because she needs someone to watch it when she is away. She pays the bills and it's a very nice situation because we generally have the house to ourselves. As a result we don't have joint bills, and we didn't see a need for a joint account. We've just been living our lives. We brought in all the evidences we could think of, but there isn't much jointly held except car insurance.

Would it be too late to add my name to his car title and open a joint account?

I am irritated about having to jump through other people's hoops and I have a upset Moroccan on my hands here.

Point me to appropriate posts or give advice here. I am so unsettled now I can't think of search terms to get me the info I want and trying and not finding is really unnerving me.

BT

If I cause offense it is not on purpose, think about that before you take offense. If you feel offended, consider that maybe I'm not talking about you and maybe I accidentally stumbled onto a sore area and do not know. Thank you.

Usually if they didn't deny during the interview, then they just want to delay the application and then send you an approval. They do not like to make things easier for us during this process, and at the same time they want to appear that they are doing a tremendous effort on each application.

I would say at this point, you won't need to start getting joint accounts for ROC. The only thing you can do is just to sit back, and wait for them to send you the approval!

Good luck!

Thanks, that does sound promising. The interview notice said to bring passport photos but the guy didn't ask for them...that's one thing that still worries me.

IDK, maybe that is more concerning if this was the interview for the K1 in Morocco?

Hi, may i know please if you and your husband had an interview during the AOS?, and about your question, if they end up asking for more evidence, you may need to ask your friends or family members or neighbors to write affidavits that they know you as a couple and you live together, also you may write people's names and theirs phone numbers. I dont know if you included that in your file that your husband sent with the I-751 file. But i think that you wont need to do that and they may not ask you for anything, it seems like you guys will hear good news, tell your husband to stay calm and pray especialy in this Ramadan.

He did not have an interview for AOS. This is only the second interview he's had to do. Of course the first was in his home country after I filed the K1 papers.

The paper the interviewer gave us didn't ask for additional proof. They want to review what we gave them again along with the interview. Interviewer did make a xerox of a few things. They said wait 120 days before contacting them about our case. Hubster has some ill family members and he doesn't want to make any of them worry about him on top of it. It has been a rough year for his family as it is. It would have been nice to have definite good news for them, ya know?

I understand his situation, all what he can do now is just waitting, i know it's hard to be patient but worrying wont change anything. I am like that too, i stress and become negative and see just the bad side, so i know how it feels. They gave him the 2 yrs without interview, if there were red flags they wouldnt gave him that card that easy. I had an AOS interview by the way, although we had plenty of proofs and things were fine, he gave me a RFE because of the chicken pox (my mom told me i got the shot when i was little) i went a head and paid more than 200 bucks to get the shot again, so i think they would '' sometimes'' come up with something during the interview to give you more hustle and at the end they approve. I really feel that he will be approved. Also, i know that what we are going thru, our families back home, hear about it, if he can stay calm and tell them that everything is going to be alright.

Soooo, the guy told us to wait 120 days. Is there a way for me to find statistics on how long this kind of wait typically is?

120 days is about 4 months. Would it likely be close to the full 120 days? Or is that an over-estimation to cover their butts like other time estimates they give sometimes are?

Having the title to the car and a bank account in both your names would be a wise choice: Not just for ROC. If one spouse dies and there is not joint ownership, the surviving spouse must pay higher death taxes on it. My grandmother discovered this when her husband died with secret accounts and safe deposit boxes in only his name. My reasoning for is that now that we are married, all assets are shared.

Do you mind if I ask where your interview was? We've also been pegged for an interview and like you we live at my mother's and she pays all the utilities. We have joint things though, definitely have the joint bank accounts (not a hell of a lot of money there, OH WELL, not like we have any otherwise we sure as hell wouldn't be here!) & joint health insurance/car insurance/cell phone bills.

Our interview is coming up on the 25th and we're not too worried about it but we definitely want to get all this over with.

Divorced. To hell with him.

Washington Field Office. Interviewer didn't ask anything surprising.

Sounds like you're in better shape with your proofs. Hope it works out for you two.
