Which Service Center sent you ROC reminder notice?

I was already writing about the notice I got (my status is IR1 now and I got it after filing I-90 and correcting CR status over a year ago).

First, I decided to write to Vermont Service Center (the letter came from there, and got forwarded from Nebraska) and explain the error and send all the evidence, but then I realized one thing. If we were to file I-751, we would send the application to California Service Center and have nothing to do with Vermont anyway. I was just wondering if Vermont is some kind of centralized place that sends the ROC notices? Anyone got a ROC reminder from California?

I just do not feel comfortable sending my evidence to some address and think that I should just ignore the reminder, especially if it is auto generated. If people get notices from the service center which they are supposed to use, then I am definitely not sending anything anywhere.

Not everyone gets a reminder in the mail. The VCS may be a centralized center for sending Removal of Conditions reminders. I would ignore the Nebraska address on the letter as the zip code on the envelope is from Vermont. The issue a CR1 visa instead of getting the IR1 visa may have triggered the letter. But, it is best to get the issue corrected.

My suggestion would be to do an infopass rather than just send in evidence and hope it gets to the right place.

Naturalization

Thank you! I had an Infopass appointment last week, and they told me that I should write to Vermont and send the evidence if I want them to stop sending me notices. They also checked my status and told me that I am unconditional resident and that there is nothing to lift. But you know how it is. Nobody wants to mess with USCIS. I have all my stuff prepared... the notice, I-90 notice of action, reply from USCIS admitting the error, copy of the new GC, marriage certificate...it is just like you say...lets hope it gets to the right place. :)

Thanks dolphin1!

We just mailed our "evidence" to Vermont 2 hours ago...used certified mail. Whatever happens, we have another proof that we tried to solve the issue. It is up to them now.

The one I got after filing I-90 is valid till June 2019. The old one was valid till November 2010. I came on CR visa, that is true, but I entered US a month after the second marriage anniversary, and that is how I became entitled to IR1 status.

If you read my question I just posed on this Forum (CIS, AR-11 and interesting stories) you will see that we got a ROC as well and in fact the whole question was because it was sent by mistake to our old address.

However, on reading your post I realized that while the ROC was sent to us from Nebraska (like you) it was in fact forwarded by Vermont (again like you). Initially I thought that this was because Vermont perhaps deals with Missouri (where we used to live) for I-751 apps and while we are in Wisconsin now and our I-751 is meant to go to CSV (like you) since they thought we still were at the old address they sent the ROC notice from Vermont instead. Now I believe your theory is correct. Indeed, I think it is something like what you describe.

If your I-751 says send it to California, send it there, like we did. Do not send it to the Center you received the ROC notice from. I am 100% sure of this. Anyway, if you or anyone else can provide a quick reply to my question as well, I'd also appreciate it :)

Thanks and good luck!

Apologies for the reply to myself but I tried to edit but it did not let me, for some reason. I wrote the above while missing the one posts where you had already got your infopass appointment and that you were unconditional (some sort of lag made me skip a page). Obviously in your case you did not have to send anything. Had you have to have sent the I-751 though, you would have needed to have sent it to the Service Center mentioned in the I-751 instructions IRRESPECTIVE as to where you received your ROC from. Anyway, at least it appears that I also received a ROC from Nebraska forwarded by Vermont and confirm the above. The only difference in my case is that because USCIS had misplaced my change of address they had attempted to first send the ROC to my old address in St Louis and not in Wisconsin. As a result, I received what you did PLUS a letter from CIS (Nebraska again) saying that if I changed address recently I need to tell London, KY (where AR-11 forms go to). You may want to read that in the Forum for more details. Congrats on unconditional status and hope all works great for you :) Real Pi

Thanks again guys!

I am so happy I sent that stuff to Vermont today. You know RealPi, it seems to me that Nebraska Service Center has some issues with its records. They probably have a computer coming up with notices and names. Nebraska Service Center people are just mailing the notices while Vermont people are forwarding them. Did you get any confirmation number for AR-11? I am not sure if you know, but people are supposed to get a confirmation number when filing AR-11 online, and if you go to USCIS site ( https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa.cr.Print.Request ) you can reprint your electronic AR-11 form. That might be another proof when you go to Infopass. Hope this helps. :)
