Hi.. wondered that myself too, a little confusing but as long as you have all the necessary documents, you will be good. I don't know the overlying reason but i think they just want confirmation. As for my interview last year, the Consul took the Affidavit of Support documents and looked at my proof of engagement documents. The interview went smooth and I hope yours will be too!

Good Luck and God Bless!! :)

Good day!!..It's good you have the original copies of the ones he sent(ex.original snail mail, receipts..etc..if ever he just sent scanned copies/photocpies of those when he filed I-129F)...the ones you must bring are the "proof of ongoing relationship"..specially after he visit you, does he still call you or do you both still communicate(hehehe..ofcourse YES..)...and don't ever forget the paystubs..sis Toni adviced us to have the recent paystubs your fiance have...guess, sometimes it is better to have more than enough..they might really ask a lot..no one knows, every case is different from the other...God bless on our upcoming interviews!!..let's just be positive and really pray we will get approved!! ..God be with us!!..be blessed everyone!! :D

I brought a photocopy of the petition that my fiancé filed just in case the Embassy misplaced the documents. Load up on the Evidence of Existing Relationship. The consul will weigh his decision on the proof you'll bring with you. You have to show that you have a genuine relationship with your petitioner and that you won't be of public charge. It's best to be prepared! You'll will basically need the ff:

Evidence of Existing Relationship

chat logs

video call logs

cellphone logs

snail mails

emails

phone cards

additional photos

*I included an updated Letter of Intent to Marry.

Evidence of Support

I-134

3 months worth of pay stubs (This was suggested by the prescreener.)

recent W2 (I brought two years worth just in case but the consul only paid attention to the recent one.)

recent ITR (I brought two years worth but again, the consul only looked at the '09 one.)

Employment Letter

*You can also provide supplementary evidence such as bank statements, investments, property leases. Some ladies even bring remittance receipts.

DS Forms

DS 156, DS 157, DS 156K

DS 156,DS 157 + email confirmation letter

*I arranged mine into two sets. (Affix your photo on both DS 156 forms.)

Good luck! :)

Don't bother squandering your money on expensive folders because you already have a file at the Embassy and the prescreener will just ask for the papers alone. Use an envelope and separate the files with post its or paper clips and label them. I used an expanding envelope for the convenience but a simple envelope will do.

Don't forget to bring a valid I.D. and the letter from the Embassy! good.gif

Yes, the embassy has the documents sent by your petitioner to the USCIS. When I had my interview, I didn't have copies of the papers/documents in the package because he sent some original proofs. However, it's good to have them at hand, in case some of the documents got lost or if they want to see the original copies.

The pre-screener will ask for your documents. If the CO wants to see more, he will ask you. Like in my case, I didn't have my fiance's pay stubs, letter of employment, and tax return. When the pre-screener saw the I-134, he asked if I have my fiance's tax return, I said no then gave him W2's for the last 3 years instead. He didn't ask for pay stubs or employment letter (I guess, I got lucky). The CO also asked for the tax return. I didn't get a pink slip, however, I got approved only a day after submitting the lacking document. I think it all depends what documents the pre-screener and the CO want to see.

Good luck to you.
