Does anyone know why some take longer then others?

The beneficiary country has a lot to do w/it. Not sure what else.

10/30/06 - Married to my loving husband

01/06/07 - NOA1 ($190)

05/16/07 - NOA2!!!!!

NVC: CR-1 Process

05/21/07 - NVC recv'd case (per rep @ NVC)

05/29/07 - NVC Assigned Case # (KNG2007******)

06/01/07 - Faxed change of address request to NVC

06/08/07 - NVC confirmed new address

06/18/07 - DS-3032 (Choice of Agent) & AOS (I-864) Fee Bill generated

06/23/07 - Recv'd DS-3032 & AOS Bill via snail mail

07/09/07 - Emailed DS-3032 (Choice of Agent) to NVC

07/19/07 - Mailed AOS Fee Bill ($70) to St. Louis, MO

07/19/07 - Recv'd email from NVC - Choice of Agent was accepted

07/23/07 - IV (DS-230) Fee Bill was generated

08/11/07 - Recv'd IV Fee Bill via snail mail

08/15/07 - Recv'd AOS Packet in the mail

My I-129F and 130 got approved on 4/17/07. My NOA1 was on 2/2/07, so that should bring some excitement to many people on here.

So, how/when can i find out when my papers go to Washington and then to Islamabad? I noticed people have timeinline dates when this process happens.

AOS Timeline

7/28/07 Sent AOS and EAD package to Chicago Service Center

8/31/07 NOA1 for I-485 Adjust Status & NOA1 for I-765 EAD

9/26/07 Biometric appointment

10/31/07 EAD card arrives in mail

11/16/07 Applied for SS number. Told it will arrive in 10 days.

I-129 Timeline

1/29/07 Mailed I-129 package to Chicago Service Center

1/31/07 Received by Chicago Service Center

2/02/07 NOA1 notice date from Missouri (NBC)

2/05/07 NOA1 received in mail

2/12/07 E-mail stating form was transferred to California Service Center

2/17/07 Letter stating form was transferred to Calfornia Service Center

2/20/07 Arrived at California Service Center

4/17/07 NOA2 e-mail notice date

4/21/07 NOA2 approval received in mail

5/4/07 NVC received approved I-129F. Assigns case number.

5/8/07 NVC sends documents to the embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan

5/11/07 Documents arrive in Pakistan, appointment package sent.

5/14/07 Received letter in mail informing us the NVC has sent our package to Pakistan.

5/15/07 Packet received with interview date, DS forms, etc.

5/17/07 Wife's medical examination date

6/5/07 Interview Date @ 08:00

6/5/07 Interview was successful. Was told my wife was "approved" and should receive her visa in a few weeks.

6/12/07 Wife receives passport with K-3 visa via AMEX

7/22/07 Wife arrives in Chicago

I-130 Timeline

1/16/07 -- Mailed I-130 package to Nebraska Service Center

4/21/07 -- NOA2 approval received in mail

Call NVC in about two wks to see if they recv'd your file and assigned a case #.

01/06/2009: NOA (arrived 01/09/09)

01/23/2009: Biometrics appt letter received

01/31/2009: Biometrics scheduled

05/20/2009: APPROVED

06/23/2009: 10 Year Green Card arrived

I truly cannot imagine what you must be going through, Mireya. Every time I read someone writing about how they are so depressed and miserable after waiting just one or two months, I wish they could know even half the hell you and your husband are being put through...now and for the last YEAR.

It unbelievable. Really. My heart breaks for you. And my prayers are with you both. I know this does little to ease the pain. Immigration can be so cruel and unrelenting.
