I was really hoping to have NO2 by the time I headed over to South Africa to see my wife, but it looks like that probably isn't going to happen.

Im right there with you Libersolis....I hope and pray that we hear something soon. I thought your I-130 got approved? I must of been in outer space or something. Im wating for my initial 6 month period to be complete from the date that we got the NOA1 for our petitions so that I can write to my congressman for some help. I hope that for Christmas thoes of us that are wating are approved so that we can be together with our loved ones soon. (F)

I'm not sure about the very oldest, but I know that Twood2k from 6/8 is still pending. It's not fair is it :( As sorry as I feel for myself, I really for them!

Mine was approved when i was flying to visit my wife. What a surprise that was when i landed and checked my email, only to see those famed 5 emails saying my K3 was approved.

Hopefully yours will be approved like that also.

jack and jill, if you wouldn't mind, I have a question for you. Looking at your timeline, I see that both your I-130 and I-129F are approved. You also have a interview date of 12/06. But there is no packet 3, packet 4 sent and received dates. Does this imply that the interview is for the CR1 green card?

At what point, and how does one decide when to abandon the K3 or the CR1 in favor of the other, and on what basis? I'm still learning the ropes here and have a steep curve ahead.

my 130 was approved first and then sent to the NVC. Just when I recevied notification that the I130 was at the NVC, the I129 was approved (approximately two weeks later). The lawyer I was working with recommended that I shelve the 130 for now because I would get the K3 interview shortly while the I130 would take some time to be processed by the NVC. Therefore, I did not send any further money or paperwork (or rather the lawyer did not on my instructions) to the NVC.

In the meantime, I emailed the consulate after two weeks. They had already received the K3 application. i then asked for an interview date which they easily gave me. Along with that, they emailed me the packet 4 for completion. I never had to do a packet 3. As I was filling out the paperwork, my wife in india received the paperwork which was eactly what the embassy eamiled to me.

In short, my interview is for the I129(K3) and the I130 is currently on hold.
