Where K3 stands

Hey Dip, I know we haven't spoken in a while, but I just wanted to send you some positive energy going into the New Year, I know your wait has been extremely long and I admire your patience and good attitude through all of this. Keep hanging in there! Things will happen sooner rather than later I believe.

Libersolis, thank you so much for the up lifting spirits. I have made up my mind to get my congressman involved even though technically they are barely processing applications from "june 15". Some one told me that I did not have to wait to get my congressman involved. Tomorrow I am arming my self with my documents and doing what I have to do. When I mentioned it to my lawyer a while back she said that it was too early to do any type of chasing or to get any one involved but...... we have been watiting since june and july and people that applied in nov are approved.....hmmmmmmm. How much more waiting does she want to try and find some answers? Do you think I am over reacting?

I was blessed to have spent the new years with my wonderful husband in London and now Im back in the states wating for the good word. Im so extreamly blessed and happy to have been with him on our 2 year anniversary on new years eve! I had forgotten what it was like to be happy untill I got to London and was reunited with my hubby after so long. I have faith in God and I know he will help us. How was your Christmas and New years?

RIBLET!!! Could you please update my timeline, I got approval on both I-130 and I-129F on Dec 12th, 2006. Today I called NIV and they informed me that Jan 5th, 2007 they have already sent petition to Islamabad, Pakistan for visa processing.

Thanks All

1. Yes you do have the option to apply for K-3 or wait for CR-1 to go through to the embassy, which takes longer than K-3.

2. You shouldn't expect anything. Your wife will receive packet 3/3.5/4 from the embassy in Islamabad.

3. Try to contact the embassy and ask them about interview schedules which I believe is being taken care of by American Express in Karachi located at Shaheen center, I.I Chunriger Road. Nonetheless, try to contact the embassy to know how to proceed.

4. Once you receive the packet from the embassy, it will contain a checklist. Prepare all the documents according to that. In K-3 nothing is sent to the NVC.

5. Yes (defined below)

6. Once she receives that packet, it will contain a letter which she has to take to the doctor. I don't think that she can just walk-in and have the doctor do the medical, since in Pakistan, the doctor sends the medical directly. Try contacting the embassy.

7. Try to gather these documents as they will be required.

8. List which I have compiled is below:

- DS-156 (Filled up by your wife) (Embassy is going to send it)

- DS-157 (Embassy is going to send it)

- Her birth certificate (Original as well as a certified copy)

- marriage certificate (Original as well as certified copy)

- evidence of relationship (Photos of marriage, copy of your plane ticket to Pakistan for marriage and any others, copy of phone bills etc.)

- I-134 (Affidavit of Support) This is required to prove that you are able to support her and she will not become a public charge. You can go to www.uscis.gov and down the form I-134 and I-864P(contains the info of how much your income should be which would be 125% above poverty line).

- A letter from the bank.

- Your job letter (In order to show your income above 125% poverty line)

- evidence of assets (Optional if income doesn't meet the poverty line)

- passport

- medical report

- police clearance (Where ever she has lived from the age of 16 for 6 months of more, she needs a police certificate from the police station under that jurisdiction)

- photos for visa

- $100 visa fee

What you have to send her is:

I-134 completed and signed

Letter from the bank.

Letter from your employer

Evidence of assets (if necessary)

Shakil thank you very much, I have few other quick questions and love to hear from you or anyone else who been to this process.

1) Can I send her bank letter, lets say NOW even I am n ot sure when her interview will be scheduled? How old bank letter is acceptable?

2) Can I send I-134 now? or wait till interview scheduled?

3) Same with employment letter?

4) Can she get police letter now or wait till interview scheduled?

5) Reason I ask if anyone knows doctors list in karachi, pakistan so she can get appointment in advance, i know she can't walk to doctor office. I don't want she waste even single day.

6) Any specific language on employment letter I ask my employer? I am a consultant this could be a problem?
