Man Dies After Dallas Police Squad Car Rear-Ends Jeep

DALLAS - A 59-year-old man died in a Dallas hospital, hours after a Dallas police squad car rear-ended his disabled Jeep, according to the victim's family.

The accident happened around 1:45 a.m. Thursday in the 7400 block of Polk Street.

Police say Terry Glover's vehicle had conked out in the center lane of the six-lane divided road. The Jeep's flashers were on, but one taillight had burned out.

Two DPD officers were responding to a non-emergency call, but were not using lights or sirens.

The officer driving the car smashed into the back of the parked Jeep, sending it over a curb and through the wrought-iron fence of the Little Birdies Child Care.

Glover was rushed to Methodist Hospital, where doctors later told his family he died of internal bleeding.
