Time between arriving at NVC and getting a case number?

How long did it take you all to get a case number?

I was under the impression that most of you who called and were told your case had been recieved at the NVC were told your case number the same day.

My husband called today and although they have recieved our case, she would not give him a number and said it can take 2-4 weeks.

How long did you all have to wait?

I-130 Process

NOA2 Approval recieved in the mail - 08/09/06

I-129F Process - With new form!

NOA2 arrived in mail - 08/26/06

NVC For I-129F

Arrived at NVC and Case # assigned - 08/28/06

Case Sent to London - 08/31/06

Packet 3 arrived - 09/13/06

Packet 3 Sent - 09-14-06

Medical - 09-21-06

Recieved Police Certificate - 10-03-06 (Took 34 days)

Packet 4 arrived - 10-04-06

INTERVIEW - 10-18-06 -APPROVED!

POE - Boston - 10-25-06

AOS Process

Sent AOS - 01/09/07

NOA arrived in the mail - 01/22/07

Biometrics Appointment - 02/02/07

Recieved EAD card - 04/02/07

Applied for SSN - 04/06/07

Recieved SSN - 04/16/07

AOS Interview - 06/06/07 - APPROVED

Greencard recieved - 06/22/07

Petition to remove conditions

Sent I-751 package - 03/13/09

Notice date - 03/27/09

Biometrics appointment - 04/11/09

I-129F Approved by E mail August 21, 2006, Just 63 Days

NOA 2 for I-129F Received in the Mail August 26th, 2006

I-129F at NVC

Case Number assigned at NVC August 29, 2006 MNL2006XXXXXXXXX

NVC sends the I-129F to the Manila Embassy August 29th, 2006

Embassy in Manila Receives I-129F August 31st, 2006

Packet 4 Received by Melinda from Manila Embassy October 1, 2006

Interview at Us Embassy Manila, October 18, 2006

Visa Approved! Interview Completed.

Visa Delivered by DELBROS October 28th, 2006

October 30, 2006 Arrived back in LAX with Melinda, were going to Disneyland!!!

November 6th, 2006, Melinda and I are back home in Winslow Arizona loving Life!

About 3 weeks from the time we got our NOA2 until our case number was assigned. I called NVC almost daily and checked the automated phone system using our reciept # but it never recognized us. By the 3rd. week I finally decided to talk to an operator and that was the exact day they assigned our case number. Good luck I know the waiting can be so difficult. I swear I never knew what the word missing meant until I met my husband!!!

06/12/06 :: AOS bill & DS-3032 generated

06/14/06 :: Emailed Choice of Agent

06/16/06 :: Email from NVC saying Choice of Agent accepted

06/19/06 :: IV Bill Generated

06/23/06 :: AOS Bill recieved

06/24/06 :: AOS Bill returned to NVC

06/26/06 :: IV bill recieved

06/27/06 :: IV Bill returned to NVC (NVC accepts 07/12/06)

07/15/06 :: I-864 Recieved (NVC didn't report it was generated)

09/01/06 :: Packet 3 Arrives INTERVIEW DATE SEPTEMBER 22nd!!

09/22/06 :: Successful Interview!! WOO HOO

10/12/06 :: Visa IN Hand

Its been 2 weeks since our approval (aug. 3) and the nvc still has not acknowledged receipt....i hope it comes soon....nerve racking!!!! I spoke to operator today as well and they dont have record of it yet.

Ok, now I feel better. I was beginning I was the only one that had taken this long to travel from CSC to NVC. They must use the same random method for sending them as they do for processing. Several people have gotten approvals around the same time as us and have already left NVC.

This whole thing is just strange...
