Who gets transferred to CSC?

In an effort to figure out if there is a correlation between particular local offices and whose K-1 AOS is transferred I wanted to take a poll. Please answer the poll as well as reply with the name of your local office.

Immigration Timelines (top of page) --> Post Visa Display Options --> AOS Section (advanced view) and then at the bottom, click on only transferred cases. You can also have it display only your local office to compare.

They transferred my case today to CSC .And i really want to know what does it mean ??

Does that mean that we will not have an interview ???

I did a lot of research about my local office, Philadelphia. For K-1 only, They seemed to interview people that lived close to the office. Now I'm not sure if it really has anything to do with it, but on here most the people who had an interview in Philly lived there or within a few minutes from there, as for us it's a 2 hour drive and we were transferred to CSC.

And OP you are correct...the AOS people don't do timelines nearly as faithfully as the K1s.

I was transferred to CSC. My local office is West Palm Beach and it's only about 45 miles away.

I'm not sure if it really has anything to do with it, and I haven't looked into any other offices but for Philly on VJ it worked out that way.

Transferred to CSC from Cincinnati, Ohio local office.

I live about 70 miles from the Cincinnati office.

Also possibly worth noting is that we are supposed to be up for a 10 year greencard (been married 3 years before filing AOS) and to our knowledge that requires an interview, so we are at a loss why we were transferred, and will not be surprised if we are transferred back to Cincy.

Unfortunately there is not much info in the timelines for my local office. I guess we're not a very immigration-ny area as far as VJ is concerned.

Going by the answers, I don't think there's a correlation between distance to the local office, but rather the office itself. Maybe they interview in areas that have a higher immigration rate? Just a theory.

Yeah, I think it has to do with how busy the local office is. If you meet certain criteria (who knows what) and your office is busy and/or backlogged I would assume it gets forwarded.

That's really the only thing that makes sense, since as far as USCIS is concerned their performance is measured by wait times and not how you inconvenience applicants by making them drive far.

I think that is probably more or less the case. I wonder what the criteria is? Or what local offices seem to be the busiest. It does seem like the bigger cities have more transfers than smaller offices.
