Did MelissaandJulian ever get married?

I heard a rumour that Alex ran off with Melissa's sister.

Bored mind needs to know!

I think Melissa posted a while ago, whingeing about how Julian had been away for six months on a "business trip." I do miss their brand of crazy occasionally.

i just spotted this! I think he's getting matrimonial. (L)

I reckon I'll be like Liz Taylor in the end, with about eleventy husbands.

Rant: my boyfriend is being weird. My mom is coming to visit me in June (I haven't seen her in over a year) so I told him last night that she was going to visit, and that she would love to meet him at last. He groaned and said, "So I'm meeting my future mother-in-law?"

Um.

W.T.F. I've never talked marriage with him, never dropped a hint. Now he's making little comments left and right about how it's what I secretly want, and that my talk about FINALLY filing for divorce (going to do it next month!) is just so I can strongarm him into proposing, etc. This b!tch is now twitchy that it's what HE wants! helpsmilie.gif

Edit to add: I am NOT looking to get remarried at all. I've had enough of matrimony!

Didn't he also mention that he thinks you want a baby?

I think your man is doing a little bit of projecting. :star:

General Ranty McRanterson-type moan here:

I can't stand reading posts that go along these lines --

USC Man: My K-1 marriage went south and now we want to be divorced.

Male VJer: Your K-1 was defective! Go shopping now! Get another one! YEE-HA!

Having only come out of the dating pool a scant 9 months ago, I can say that men who are very, VERY freshly out of a long-term relationship (or even short-term marriage) are 100% not fun to date. I went on dates with three of these guys. In one case, the wife had moved out three days before! There is nothing quite like your date breaking down in tears during dinner because of a marital breakdown that happened three days ago.

I'm sure there are exceptions to this, but of my friends both male and female who are single and dating right now, all of them have told me that dating newly separated and divorced people is always a disaster. Take my friend, the Hair Toucher. He has dated two, yes TWO, recently ex-Mormon women who are just out of 15-20 year relationships. Both were hot messes who only wanted sex and not a relationship at all. A female friend of mine who has been dating another one of these specimens for a couple of months says she's not sure it will ever work for them, because all he wants to do is talk about how cr@ppy his marriage was. See? No fun!

(And if you're a guy who is looking for a monogamous relationship, and your girl just wants to have a lot of sex with a lot of guys, that is apparently no fun either. Or so I am told.)

I wondered about them too. Because I have a morbid curiosity and all. :P

Today's b!tch -- I have to write an admissions essay for the LLM program I'm applying to. You'd think after spilling my guts on here for five years I could write about myself with some panache and elan but alas, this is slow-going. Plus, the boyfriend has given me an ultimatum that he will not see me until I have the essay done.

Also, it is raining torrentially here. Meh.

Got my first ever ticket for a moving violation -- illegal left turn. I thought the sign said "No Left Turn 4-7pm" (it was 8pm) but it apparently said "Left Turn 4-7pm Only." The po-po were very nice to me, but I was using my Very Posh Voice and being polite and apologetic. I still got the ticket though.sad.gif
