lol, a classic.

Get well, M....

As long as you don't get to the Spike Milligan headstone stage, as Wikipedia describes ...

Death

Even late in life, Milligan's black humour had not deserted him. After the death of friend Harry Secombe from cancer, he said, "I'm glad he died before me, because I didn't want him to sing at my funeral." A recording of Secombe singing was played at Milligan's memorial service. He also wrote his own obituary, in which he stated repeatedly that he "wrote the Goon show and died".[citation needed]

Milligan died from liver disease, at the age of 83, on 27 February 2002, at his home in Rye, East Sussex. On the day of his funeral, 8 March 2002, his coffin was carried to St Thomas's Church in Winchelsea, Sussex, and was draped in the flag of the Republic of Ireland.[38] He had once quipped that he wanted his headstone to bear the words "I told you I was ill." He was buried at St Thomas's Church cemetery in Winchelsea, East Sussex, but the Chichester Diocese refused to allow this epitaph.[39] A compromise was reached with the Irish translation, "Dúirt mé leat go raibh mé breoite", and additionally in English, "Love, light, peace".

luv.gif @ everyone. Thank you SO much. I'm on day 24 since the incident, and my energy levels are starting to return. I'm pretty tired all the time still, but no new hives for over a week, very little to no itchiness on my legs (although they are still splotchy), and much-reduced itchiness on my arms and torso. The worst is some of the little bumps on my arms have scabbed over, so I totally look like a meth head!laughing.gif I try to get out of the house once a day, and limit my napping if possible.

One of the turning points has been being extremely mindful of what goes in my body. Absolutely NO gluten. I made the mistake of eating RyVita, thinking it was okay and I was in agony for 12 hours. Also eating lots and lots of vegetables, with only the occasional taco.innocent.gif I made a huge veggie curry (red potatoes, sweet potato, onion, green beans, broccoli) and ate that for a few days. I avoid sugar wherever possible and am cutting down on overly processed food. And NO tomatoes!

I cannot say how much my boyfriend has helped me these past few weeks. His care and consideration and nursing has been unbelievable, and he is a voice reminding me (at my request) not to scratch and to put down that bread roll. My life has changed and will be changing dramatically as a result of what happened recently, and I rail against how unfair it all is (I nearly cried at a taco joint last night when I had to send back my salsa-covered taco -- I never wanted to be that girl who is overly precious about food), how many changes I have to make so quickly, and he just listens to me and lets me lose it. It sounds so trivial when I write it ("waaaaaaaah! I wanna eat pasta and salsa and bread and pizza again!"), so thank you all for expressing your kind wishes. They mean a lot.star_smile.gif

Maven, so many changes going on with you - but you seem to feel like you're moving in the direction you want to go.

Dad had a really great day today - we got back to the point where he was just before the code 2 weeks ago, and everyone was smiles today. We are really hoping that we can stay on this upward trend this time!

I failed my driving test. :(

The woman was very impersonal and didn't look at me once. I managed to do the general driving, 3-point turn, parallel park and everything... but failed cause she told me to pull over to side of the road 6 inches away from the curb and I hit the curb. Then she told me to reverse 50ft next to curb and I hit it again with both wheels, so she ticked 'hit curb' as immediate fail.

I don't think I can get the job now as they already waited 3 weeks for me to get the license. I'll see what they say tomorrow, but very very sad today. I have another test on Friday with the same woman but I still think I'm gonna fail again, even my husband and his dad struggle to reverse against the curb and not hit it.

oooh no. so sorry. since when do you have to do that???? thats terrible. ok well, friday it is. how do i not hit the curb, man its hard to explain without showing ya, i reverse in at a right angle looking i the right hand mirror until all the curb disappears without me craning my neck, then i quickly turn the wheel to fit in the space and reverse in. i did this so many times in london, that its something that i just do, , well now you know your weakness you can practice till friday, this is more than possible, gemma, its just one thing. when i failed in london, i failed on sooooooooooooooo much stuff it was ridiculous.. the second time i went home and cried...

second time will be the charm fo r you though..

####### kind of test is that? In this state it is very simple and my husband was able to pass on the first try. They say Utah drivers suck and I understand why now!!

You do have a tougher test than most states, but when you do pass it's going to be an accomplishment. Good luck on Friday!!
