Hi all,

I have been seeing posts regarding getting a Passport PCC to go with the DS-230. What is the Passport PCC. Is this the same as the regular Police Certificate? If not, does everyone need the Passport PCC?

This is in regards primarily to Indian Requirements (for India we likely need 2 different Police Certificates).

To avoid any confusion - you should check the Reciprocity by Country for Nigeria regarding Police Clearance Certificates on the National Visa Center website.

CR-1 Visa Was Approved :-)

Entry Date to USA: 2/3/2011

12-10-2012 - Sent off I-751 packet visa USPS

I751 Was approved - 10 Year GC was granted

N-400 Progress

4/10/2014: Package Mailed
4/11/2014: Package Received
4/14/2014: Notice Date
x/x/2014: Biometrics appointment

Select FIRST three letter's of the CITY/TOWN where US CONSULATE is situated near to where you live in Nigeria.....

for eg. for BOMBAY....it's BMB...

After that you will see list of documents by country as per selection .....

under that look for POLICE RECORDS requirements....you will get what you need.

07-19-2021 - received message from NVC about case can not be processed unless all civil documents are submitted (was missing police clearance)

08-12-2021 - submitted police clearance certificate - which was last document submitted to NVC

11-05-2021 - Case completed at NVC - DQ

03-31-2022 - Interview letter received

04-28-2022 - Interview date at mumbai embassy

It says you need POLICE CHARACTER certificate.......from nigeria

To apply for a Police Character Certificate write directly to:

The Deputy Inspector General

Criminal Investigation Department

Nigerian Police Force

Alagbon Close

Ikoyi, Lagos

Nigeria

I checked the Nigerian PCC link. It doesn't say how long the certificate is valid for. Does anyone know for sure?

Here is a link to a post (look at post #11), that mentions how long it is valid, which is 3 months.
