Hello again, I need your help.

On the AOS instructions it says I need to have the birth certificate translated if not in english. "A copy of the intending immigrant's birth certificate along with English translation. (If in any language other than English)" Can I translated or do I have to pay someone to do it? If so, where can I get it done? Please help.

Yes you have to go to a certified translation office where they translate it and they have to be a certified office

I did that for my marriage certificate but i think in the US they even do translation at court but i could be wrong i hope someone also reply and give you more accurate information

Good luck

Did you keep a copy of the prior work done for the K-1, at all?

It's only asking for a copy - whatcha got, in yer files?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I have copies of the K1 documents but the birth certificate is in french not in english.

I translated my husband's birth certificate and attached a sheet saying that I am competent in both languages and certified that it is an accurate translation. There is a link on here with the exact wording or I can look up my paperwork and send you a copy if you need. There is no need to pay someone to do it. We had no issues with me doing the translating.

Thank you so much. I will definitely do the translations and save the money for better use. Can you please send me the link?

Again thank you.

Here you go:

The certification format should include the certifier's name, signature, address, and date of certification. A suggested format is:

Certification by Translator

I [typed name], certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and ________ languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled ______________________________.

Signature_________________________________

Date Typed Name

Address
