Has anyone called Aeroflot BEFORE they left?

I only called their customer service once to get my wife's ticket over here and they were pretty helpful. (Out of New York.) I'm assuming they'd be able to tell you based on your flight numbers and arrival/departure times what the correct procedure was even before you left.

It may not be 100% correct, but it's worth a shot, anyway.

My tip to any traveler is to become a Delta SkyMiles member. You can call their international number and speak to a real American at any time, day or night, and they'll run the numbers for you or figure out how to right your wrong as long as you know the "secret handshake" (aka your SkyMiles number). Aeroflot is a partner airline with them so you'd be in good shape calling them.

Ensure your beneficiary makes and brings with them to the States a copy of the DS-3025 (vaccination form)

If the government is going to force me to exercise my "right" to health care, then they better start requiring people to exercise their Right to Bear Arms. - "Where's my public option rifle?"

Thank you everyone for your response. I have taken safety measures by changing Liana's flight to a Delta direct flight from Kiev to New York on Sept 5. It was cheaper also. I don't want her first flight experience to be a bad one, she may never want to travel alone again. :o I have Hawaiian Air Miles and they are affiliated with Delta, so I get alot of miles!!!

Aerosvit has or had some good deals going on. I just looked into a flight out of New York to Odessa and it was $830 including tax, roundtrip of course, that changes by date and every few hours. Airlines change the rate I think 4 or 5 times a day. I forget what times they change but its always worth checking a few times a day.

I may be too late but I came back from Russia last week and flew through Sheremetyevo. They opened up at the end of July the walkway between all terminals. It is SUPER easy, quick, and free to walk between D E & F. No more dealing with the annoying taxi drivers (on my way to Russia the walkway was not open and I paid $20 for a ride between F & D) Plus they have free luggage carts. If I can do it with a 3 year old in tow anyone can do it :). I do speak Russian but it was not necessary to know the language because everything is written in English too.

I don't know the ins and outs of SVO, but I will have some details after I zip through September 2nd.

I'm flying everybody's favorite Russian Airline, JFK - SVO - SIP (Simferopol, Ukraine).

I have confirmed with Aeroflot that I will not have to change SVO's as I'm INTL all the way and my bag will check through to SIP. I will have 5 hours to sort it out going and 12 on the return on 6 Oct.

If I think of it I'll get whatever info I can to share with the rest of the class.

In the meantime maybe this will help. http://www.svo.aero/en/map/
