20 Worst-Paying College Degrees in 2010

Yeah, my husband took that risk, did a 2-year degree thinking he would be able to get into games, media, etc. He's never been able to use it because there is way too much competition and they all want years of experience. I'm really surprised it's not higher on the list. He's now working in an office and wishing he never went near Graphic Design.

My psychology degree is offering me jack $hit right now because all of the positions are filled, but I'm not under the illusion that it's a worthless subject as I've heard people say over here. I've been looking at options for months and if there's a position available, that degree can take you far.

Well if Graphic Design is a passion, so that you keep adding to your skills (often at your own expense lol) then there's no reason why it can't work out in some shape or form. Maybe not full time in a self sustaining way if not having previous employment but if you're the go-to person in the family for design related stuff there's usually opportunity for a bit of extra money here and there. I hope he's happy what he's doing now regardless :)

I hope you find something soon, I would definitely keep working at it! Are you working something else as backup right now?

He's not 'happy' working at his office per-se, but he doesn't hate it either. He's looking at becoming a mortgage appraiser since he actually kind of enjoys it. He still does a few graphics now and then but whatever free time he gets nowadays (he's at work for 10 hours a day), he spends it either with me or on his plane hobby.

At the moment, I'm looking for anything. Bank telling, helping animal shelters, data entry, even a few retail places. I need to have a decent income at this point, and once I have that, I'll keep looking at psychology positions. I've got a few things in mind (assisting in schizophrenia research, applying for a PhD for next fall) so my mind won't dry up. ;)
