I know I saw this question asked before, and I have searched up to page 18 in K-1 forums ... I cant find it.

Everything I read says to fill out the I-134 ( here on this site ) yet on USCIS it says to fill out I-864. Which one do we use ?

We just got our NoA2, the email said to wait for the hardcopy and follow the instructions ... we waited and received it yesterday .. lo and behold .. no instructions. From the timeline here I gather that NVC ( which I know next to nothing about ) will receive our application in a week or two. What happens then ?

You'll get your instructions when your case gets to the consulate. The NVC just forwards your case there, so if you get a letter from them (we didn't) it'll just give you the new case number, no instructions.

Hope that helps, and good luck!

Some consulates have begun asking for the I-864 for fiancee visas, but most use the I-134. As far as I know, both consulates in Canada still ask for the I-134. You'll get instructions for this form with the packets from the consulate. You can also go to the Canada regional forum here. There are plenty of other members with recent experience who can help you out.

You won't find much specific information about the affidavit of support in the K1 forum because:

1. The affidavit is submitted at the consulate, therefore questions about the affidavit usually go in the "US Embassy and Consulate" forum. Don't be surprised if this topic gets moved there...

2. The specific requirements vary from one consulate to another. You'll get answers to specific questions in the regional forums.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!
