Yet another RFE

I'm really angry . I just got another RFE, this time to go for a SECOND full medical. I just had one in London in December (almost $400), then when I got here in January, I got the vaccination supplement from a US civil surgeon ($25). This is crazy. Yet more $$$$ and more time....why would they need another one? I am well within the time frame? Can they keep requesting RFEs for as long as they want?

Sorry to hear you have another RFE.... Get the medical done as soon as you can.... there have been others who have had to have another medical within 12 months for the last one....

A word of warning if you don't have it done the next thing you will receive will be a denial.... this has happened a few times in the last few months.... better to just do it than try and argue or tell USCIS that you dont need one.....

Thanks kezzie. I had read of this happening before too. As soon as I got the letter in the mail this afternoon, I phoned the civil surgeon we used for the I693a and he managed to fit us in tomorrow. It is now a mad rush as we have to leave at 5am - its a 4 hr drive.

Try to relax and not worry to much.... you have a long drive in the morning and dont need to be all stressed out....

I am not sure that I ever heard of a second medical done in the window time frame but who knows with them ! good luck

Sadly it's true. My son was one of those who was RFE'd because they requested a second medical, even though he had his done within the 12 month timeframe.

You're doing the right thing in getting it done as there's no point risking an outright denial.

FYI - when I phoned and asked about this, I was told that even though the guidelines state if a medical was done within the last 12 months, you don't need to submit another one, the service center has the authority to request anything they want and if you don't supply it they will deny the application, so in certain respects the service center can choose to do as they please even when it goes contrary to USCIS Guildelines! Apparently that is what they are - guidelines - not rules!
