Bio yesterday had one interesting development. I am sharing this with everyone here because we all need yet one more thing to stress about as we walk the Visa Journey. So my wife arrives 15 minutes early for the appointment, fills out the required paperwork, and is seen promptly. The lady begins to take finger prints and the machine keeps refusing the prints, the lady makes several attempts to get a clear print that the machine will take. Then the lady states "I am just going to override this and send the print on it's way, your fingers are not good for prints." Then she states. " I hope that they accept this print, if not you would need to come back and get reprinted." CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHY IT HAS TO BE THIS WAY? If these people who manipulate the process had any idea the journey we have been on, if they could just walk in our shoes during this lengthy process they might be a bit more considerate regarding the way they approach their jobs. What can one do? Now the uncertain wait, will the prints be good enough? Will the process end in a month? Who know.....

Wait and hope that those prints work for The System.

If they don't, they'll enjoy making you do another run for another set of fingerprints and so on until they are happy.

Sigh.

I do hope though that the worker was able to override it correctly and the prints were just fine.

Why has it to be that way? I wish I knew.

I also don't get why they need to get yet another photo while taking the fingerprints too, one would think that the SIXTEEN photos that end up in the file with a K-3/CR and AOS could possibly be enough...

one thing you can do is to call the FBI after a couple of weeks and see if the biometrics cleared or not.

Thank you for the reply.

Have you called the FBI before? If so, what is that process like? I would think that would be opening up another can of bureaucracy- Vespa

I haven't personally, but several VJ members did and they actually were positive about their experience. The caller needs to provide the SSN and I think the A# and verify some information like address, and DOB, but it seems like the FBI are more positive about providing answers.
