(I posted this in the K1 forum but only one person responded and didn't know the answer so I'm hoping someone here can help)

I just received this email from the USCIS saying that our petition has been transferred to the California Service center. Last week when I got the NOA1 Email from them it said our case had been sent to Texas for processing. What's going on? Does this mean something is wrong? I'm currently living abroad with my Fiance until his K1 visa is approved BUT for the application I provided them with my parent's US address in Florida. I double checked before we sent it off and it clearly said Florida applicants should send their petition to the Vermont Service Center. I'm really stressing out over this! Please, has anyone else experienced this?

Here's the email they sent:

Well! Im going through the same situation. But in my case, my husband filed the I130 in 02/28/2008. Since 10/28/2008 in the uscis website my case status is under initial review and transferred to the Dallas, TX service center for processing. However we received the approval notice in sep 2009. But the case wasn't sent to the nvc. Instead of this they sent the case the national record centre. We're still waiting that the uscis put the case in the right way.

My husband and you did the same steps. He's living abroad with me and mailed the petition to the Vermont office. We used his parents address in Florida.

I hope you do better than us. Cause we have almost 3 years in this situation.

Wow 3 years is a very long time, you two must have incredible patience!

I don't know much about the CR-1 Visa process but I think you should definitely contact your congressman.
