Time from Interview to Visa in Mail

Hello, we had our interview on Aug 2, also in Guangzhou, China and they said it would be ready in 2 days. On the 2nd day they said one more day....on the 8th day after the interview we finally got it, but we are pretty happy to get it now! From what i have seen they seem to arrive anywhere between 2-7 days on average and in some cases due to holidays or weekends and strange things happening they can go a little longer. GZ was particularly busy so I think that is what delayed ours. if your flight is for the 18th, I think you will be ok, but it does seem to be taking a little long if you have not received it by now. 5/19/2010.............NOA2 received - I-129F APPROVED notification received via email!

5/27/2010.............NVC Received approved I-129F from VSC

5/28/2010.............I-129F Left NVC

6/3/2010...............I-129F Received at American Consulate in GUZ.

6/4/2010...............Received Packet 3

6/8/2010...............Packet 3 sent to American Consulate in GUZ.

7/15/2010.............Packet 4 received

8/2/2010...............Interview at 7:15am in GZ - WE GOT PINK....PASSED!!!!!

8/10/2010.............Picked up Visa in hand at the post office in GZ.

Just general advice to everyone, never buy your ticket until you have the visa in hand.

You will probably get it in time, but there have been those that have been delayed for whatever reason. Did you pay to have it express mail?

Do you think the ststement in the instructions stating" Do not purchase the plane tickets until the visa is in hand" was put there just to fill more space on the page? :bonk:
