We're approved! But we didn't expect anything less.

I will write how it goes for the sake of anyone else looking for Honolulu information since the only other written exerience (that I could find) was on the old boards which is now lost.

Our appointment was at 8:30. My husband deciedes to go into work for a bit before the interview. At 5 minutes to 8 he comes down and we drive to the district office. Yes, I was saying a paryer and pacing! We arrived at 8:10. Got throughthe security at 8:15 and was called for the interview at 8:35.

The lady was very nice and friendly. We swore to tell the truth. She asks my husband if he has been in jail, arrested, deported, etc.etc.. he says only what my wife puts me through. Ha ha. I told him nicely it was not the time for joking. She looked at our joint bank statements and took the following:

2005 tax retrn and W2

rental aggreement

car insurance

She verified all the personal data. The questions she asked us, were:

How did we meet?

When did we start dating?

When did we decide to get married?

What kind of wedding did we have?

How many people were there?

Why did we marry each other? (and this led to a whole conversation about finding and fulfilling one's purpose in life)

What common interests do we have?

We signed the paper saying we understand when to file for unconiditional residency. She told us we were approved--but she had to update the computer system and make sure the fbi checks were complete. So hopefully we will get the approval notice and greencard soon!

And that's it! Very happy to be done with.

February 24, 2005--1st NOA

March 15, 2005--2nd NOA

April 11, 2005--Fiance receives Packet 3

May 19, 2005 Fax Checklist(Nigeria police report finally arrives)

June 6, 2005-- Interview Date!!!!Visa approved!!

June 18, 2005--Fiancee arrives in Hawaii!

August 14, 2005--wedding in Oregon

September 12, 2005--sent in AOS

September 20, 2005--1st NOA AOS

September 23, 2005--Walk-in biometrics completed

October 1, 2005--fingerprints received/processing resumed

November 26, 2005--EAD card received in mail

June 7, 2006--contact senators about AOS

June 28, 2006--senator says interview date is for August 14!!

August 14, 2006--AOS interview and 1 year wedding anniversary

March 28th 2013 - Priority date/ NOA 1
November 14th 2013 - Transferred to Nebraska Service Center

January 7th 2014 - Case changed online to approved for both

January 8th 2014 - case changed to shipped to NVC

January 9th 2014 - case changed to NOA 2 mailed

January 10th 2014 - Received the hardcopy of the NOA 2 stating that NVC would issue a case number in 30 days approx.

January 21st 2014 - Case Received at NVC

February 26th 2014 - Case numbers and IIN number received - Wrong embassy code assigned...now waiting for new case numbers.

March 3rd 2014 - Filled in DS-261 for both parents

March 5th 2014- AOS available, paid and submitted AOS packet.

March 6th 2014 - USPS shows packet was delivered at NVC

March 10th 2014 - AOS shows as paid in the CEAC portal/AOS logged into system as being received by NVC.

March 11th 2014 - New case number assigned for my Dad.

March 20th 2014 - Paid IV fee for my Mum.

March 25th 2014 - AOS accepted by NVC with no checklist.

March 26th 2014 - Filled in and submitted DS-260 for my Mum

March 31st 2014 - AOS found in my Mum's file for my Dad - accepted and placed into his file/IV fee available for my Dad and Paid.

April 1st - Mailed all civil documents to NVC for both parents.

April 3rd: IV fee shows as paid in portal/submitted DS-260 for my Dad.

April 22nd: checklist issued for civil documents - NVC error ...

April 23rd: sent another certified copy of my marriage certificate

April 24th: Case complete! :)

April 30th 2014 - Medical scheduled for parents at Knightsbridge in London

June 11th: Interview at London Embassy - Approved :)

It is very expensive to live here. We want to move. We both have good jobs though.

I forgot to add. I never sent in the vaccination supplement. He got his vaccines at his medical in SOuth Africa. I never got an RFE either. But it was right there in his folder the interviewing officer had.

Got the actual greencard in the mail yesterday. So it only took 9 days from the interview date. And all the info is correct and we are done for the next little bit!
