thanks

jim

My recent experience is that it has sped up from about three weeks to ten days.

I thought it would be a good thing if there was a 'China DS-260' option online, for convenience and all of that. Is it a good thing now because it's such a new process?

I disagree - have you seen the DS-260 ? EEEK ... Double EEK

EP to NVC gathers up all, anyway, and it then gets stored in SAFEFILE at NVC - and GUZ IV has all contents of SAFEFILE after the appointment date is set - why to add in a parallel document gathering 'thing' (the DS-260) when all of the biodata is there in SAFEFILE for the Visa Application/Applicant ? (SAFEFILE ROCKS, btw)

Appointment setting for GUZ IV (for EP Cases) is different than Montreal - Montreal has a mondo f'ed up backlog of cases to get in/out - I can't for the life of me understand why, for Montreal, including the DS-260 could speed up anything. But that's ok - I'm a bit happy to remain clueless about Montreal - don't even TRY to rent me a clue, I won't barter dumplings either.

I'm a fan of anything electronic, but I was hoping the DS-260 would 'do away' with having to gather up all for the DS-230 - and that's just not the case, for now - perhaps is gonna be some parallel process for the next few quarters, until the DS-260 is 'proved up' and the DS-230 can be disguarded? That's my hope, anyway.

Hey ! Keep yer eyes peeled, if you have an approved I-130 and any CR-1/CR-2/IR-1/IR-2/IR-5 in play at NVC -

NVC is ramping up to start utilising the DS-260 Electronic Immigrant Visa Application Form.

NO IDEA OF WHEN they're gonna push the button -

but - all was approved on 3 AUG 2010.

See http://edocket.acces.../2010-19046.pdf

My thanks to http://www.visajourn...3385-elicearea/ for bringing it up recently.

If you hear anything from/at NVC - hey ! post here?

I think this is great, but will cause more back up on the AOS side, which is slow already.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.
