Hi guys, I just called NVC to check our case status, and asked about the new form - they appeared to be completely unaware of it! Well, hopefully this news is not going to affect those, who have already submitted their DS-230 to the NVC. Best wishes to everyone!

I had a longish read on this 'announcement' -

it smells like it's only at the 'consular' level, IE - when filing the I-130 via DCF.

But...

I've a call into Andrea Lage today, perhaps she'll actually call me back, and talk with me about 'implementation' , 'location', and 'usage'.

I remember the DS-160 rollout - they used a few countries for 'testing' first, and now it's more widespread, 15 months later -

so if it's the same crew of IT and DoS folk, I'm thinking there will be another set of 'test countries' first, before it's rolled out 100 percent.

I'll post more here after I speak with Ms. Lage..

Be Good !

Alrighty - just got off the phone with Ms. Lage - she's saying -

The initial 'test' will be across 6 posts (IE - countries/Embassies) ,

but initiated at NVC...

and the first rollout/test will be most likely in September / October, after the tech team has finished it's testing.

Yay !

I'll post more when there's more news.

Hello,

Just got approval for electronic processing. I was wondering if any one can help me here, should i email DS 230 with all the necessary documents scanned(MC,PC,BC) or should i fill out DS 260(online)and then send the scanned documents?

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

I think you should fill out DS-260 b/c I am going thru the electronic processing now and I initially submitted the DS-230 along w/ all the supporting civil documents. I received a checklist a few days ago w/ the following message: "The Embassy / Consulate where you will be interviewed requires you to submit an electronic DS-260 Immigrant Visa Application. You will find instructions for submitting the required forms and supporting civil documents at http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html.

To avoid delaying your visa(s) we urge you to send the required supporting civil documents, for all

applicants, together in a single submission as soon as possible after submitting the DS-260."

p.s. I just noticed that you aren't going thru the IR/CR immigrant visa process. in that case, I am not sure. sorry for the confusion.

very cool - no 'China DS-260' for now - and that's a good thing.

I LIKE the NVC EP for Guangzhou-bound petitions - just wish there wasn't such a lag in issuing the GZO number (normally done after the case is converted to Electronic Processing).

grrr.
