I have to get a copy of my birth certificate to file the K1 fiancee visa. Do I nedd one with an apostille seal or is a certified copy sufficient. My original certificate from 1952 does not have a number, hence the new copy

thank-you

Since it's the US gov't that needs it, it only needs to be certified. However, I wish I had used my passport instead of birth certificate because it shows the entry/exit stamps that help prove that the two of you have met and when. If you met outside of the US, I'd recommend using your passport instead. If the number you are talking about is the "Certificate #", I've heard that only applies to certificates of naturalization, not birth certificates.
