why is one child ir2 and another cr2

myhusband is on cr1 visa. why are the kids on two different classifications? I can't get through to them and i am eager to send fee bills. pls help.

Have the visas been issued or are you still at NVC stage? Im assuming NVC if you are mentioning fees. I wouldnt worry about it as the correct visas will be issued at interview stage. IR and CR are the same process.

we are still processing at nvc. the kids have just been issued their fee bills. by the times any visa is issued we would have been married 2 yrs

As a practical matter the designation of CR1 or IR1 (or CR2 or IR2) is important only at the time of entry, and making sure that they 'get it right' at the POE.
