Pessimistic and perhaps alarmist, on its face... but has either of these thoughts crossed anyone else's mind, even fleetingly? And, if it HAS crossed someone else's mind, the larger question is, why?

I've long thought they'd try to grant blanket amnesty to ensure more voters. That's a democrat's wet dream.

As for declaring a state of emergency... we'll just have to see. I don't see it happening based on illegal's votes (because they'd simply have them vote and count them without declaring an emergency... a lot easier to just sneak 'em under the radar like ACORN did last time) I see it happening based on something else, something like an economic collapse and rapid devaluation of the dollar.

If Hillary wants to be President she has a better chance of running in 2012 then in 2016 or beyond that because of age. Statistically by 2016 a Republican is up to win again. No one party has won three terms in a row since Franklin D. Roosevelt who was the only president that had won three terms before the two term limit was set in place. Also like I said last week or the week before that Obama has a chance at winning a second term just like Bush did when not many thought he'd win again.

I don't know about the conspiracy theories to legalize illegals to rig the votes but I wouldn't put it past either party since what I witnessed the Republicans did back in Texas with redrawing the districts to rig the majority votes. The Democrats in the legislature called them on it and walked out of legislature then. I think that's part of the reason why Bush got in office and beyond. The whole entire political system seems to be corrupt and has been long before most of us got here. I really dislike thinking about it all.

Someone with whom I recently chatted pessimistically estimated a 49% likelihood that "Honest Obe" will craft a way to legalize at least some Illegals (undocumented Democrats) before this November, and -- if it appears that he or his side will lose in 2012 -- at least a 51% likelihood that he will declare a State of Emergency -- suspending the 2012 elections indefinitely and keeping himself in power.

Wholescale legalising of illegal aliens without going through Congress? USCIS is already looking at it, using Amnesty By Administrative Action.

As for the State of Emergency, I believe he has to get Congress onside for that, so it won't happen. If he tried it, Nixon's impeachment would look like a gentle slap on the wrist by comparison to what Obama would go through.
