Well, Sarah's interview went just as smooth and problem free as we could have hoped for, and after just a few minutes, and a few questions, the consular officer said "you are approved for the visa". She paid 253 pesos to Air 21 for the delivery to Davao.

Now, we just await delivery.

So, the entire process from beginning to approval took 3.5 months. Guess I need to book that one way flight for her that I never thought would be needed so soon. I am also going to travel to the Philippines and accompany her back, so time to plan.

Thank you to all for your advice and guidance. The information many of you post is so helpful and reassuring as this process progresses.

USEM does not send out packets---just a letter.

I am aware of the CFO. In fact, I am planning two days in Manila prior to departing for here (CFO is only one day, but I do like a little comfort zone in case of an unforeseen delay)

Congrats, my only advice is to wait until visa is "in hand" before you purchase airfare.. good luck! :star:

I plan to wait. There is still quite a bit of availability for my estimated travel dates, so fares could even possibly go down a bit.
