Tax Return filing status for 2011

I am hoping (if all goes well) to get married to my fiancee later this year. She is now in China. By the time she gets here in the U.S. she probably would have earned about $10-11K in China. She will also be bringing some cash along. I am thinking of filing the 2011 tax return as MFJ. I am hoping I will not have to report her China income on our joint return? Should I file separately? I tried searching this site and only came up posts asking about how many years tax return needed for this form or that form.

I know it's a little early to think about this, but I'm getting bored waiting for her to get the P4.

her 'china income' for that year, ya report - and it will be exempt from calculations/taxation.

The 'cash she's bringing along' isn't taxable.

I take it you're speaking of the 2010 tax return you will file in 2011 but either way, that amount of foreign income is exempt from taxation.

Yes, it is the 2010 tax return due 4/15/2011. Thanks. I am glad it is exempt. I like exempt
