Hi there, during another discussion I discovered that Cd. Juarez may need us to get Fiancee (mom's) visa approved, and then do medical for 2 kids...

Has anyone else found this to be the case? We had hoped to do medical all the same day, wait for boys (9 & 13) to have 72 hour TB test, then all cross together...maybe finished in 6-8 days!?!

I just recieved some info on another VJ post saying they had to get mom approved first, then start kid process? So basically they spent 3 weeks in Cd. Juarez. I am worried about time off work to be with mom & kids...HELP!!!!! REALLY???? This is BIG money for hotels someone please tell me they had an easier time okay?

Someone...anyone know more about crossing here on K1 with children at the same time???

The K-2 visa for the children can be completed at the same time as your fiance. When your fiance has her medical, the children can have the medical done at the same time, but it takes 4 days for their results. Your fiance must be approved before the K-2 can be issued, meaning if your fiance has a reason to be inadmissible, the K-2's will not be issued until your fiance is approved. In our situation, my fiance was denied at her visa interview. Her son, who I included on the application, could not receive his K-2 visa because she was denied. Fortunately, my fiance was eligible for a I-601 waiver that waived her inadmissibility.

You do have the option of having the K-2's cross with your fiance when she crosses or the K-2's can follow up to a year later. Hope this is helpful.

We hope it all goes well for you. But....

In CDJ you have much more to worry about than the cost of staying there 3 weeks.

Stay Safe! :star:

Well Hopp, thanks for the lovely picture, we all can't wait to take the kids through Cd.Juarez!

Yep we are quite aware of the danger of this town...as I have posted before on this website I wish our Gov't or is it Mexico who makes the decision (?) would allow fiancee visas to be processed in Merida Yucatan, it is MUCH safer & they have a nice airport to head off to USA after all the happy approvals!

We are actually very scared to go to Cd. Juarez however we are hoping things will settle down even a bit before our 'guesstimated' date of March/April 2011.

Seems soooo scary that we need to take kids through there.

Try not to scare us anymore than necessary please LOL!
