WAITING FOR DS-230 PACKET

im lai from the philippines... my husband is a us citizen and he's currently in us right now.

my question is...

1) my husband already pay the IV bill january of this year, but i haven't receive the packet containing the ds-230 form... what shall i do? can i just send the printed ds-230 and the cover letter at nvc? or should i wait for the packet to arrive?

2) and what documents do i need for the ds-230

Go to their website where your husband paid the ds-230 and if it is showed paid then download the form and filled it up.Don't wait they will mail you the packet.Print the letter that has barcode. To go with your Ds 230 are original Marriage cert.,nbi,4 pcs.passport size,birth cert,and photocopy of your passport.Ifyour married before send the divorce decree or annulment. No use in waiting the intructions package to arrive. Print our the cover sheet as soon as it shows PAID, fill the DS-230, submit all the required documents (originals/certified copies) and put it to mail. According to the AVR, NVC mailed the package to us two months ago, but we never got it. Good luck!

you need to go online and follow the instructions they will not send you the package now 7 months have passed when you could have been with your husband already.

it's absolutely okay..BUT..you must submit that together with the requirements and the COVERPAGE..do you have that?you mentioned he paid january..is it online? it's been months now since you've paid..you shoul've called NVC already..maybe by now you're already in the US

Who waits 7 months for NVC , when using the online payment portal? OUCH !!

hi! thank you so much... you know.. all of your suggestion are great and really helpful! i already have all the documents needed.. how stupid of me to wait for the packet containing the ds-230 form while i can just download it from the internet... in some form it state that i should use the enclosed envelop thats why im waiting for the packet... could i use a different envelop? is it ok.. cause i'll be sending it on monday.... thanks!

hi! yups.. he paid it january of this year and in online... and yes i already have the printed coversheet with the barcode of my case number.. and my documents are all ready to be mailed on monday... ai will follow all your suggestions guys! my god! im so stupid waiting for so long just for nothing!

ya, sorry, rarely does NVC send anything out via postal mail.

It does happen, but it's rare.
