What does this mean? If the story is about an upper middle class, white collar guy who lives in the suburbs, the actor cast should be white just because most people that fit that description are white?

Yes. That's exactly what that means. It could work with a black family, but casting a black family in that role just changed the whole movie because of our perception.

I think Heston was horrible in that movie. I liked the idea of the movie but watching it was painful. I think at the end when he seen The Statue of Liberty probably the worst acting ever, well second to "its a madhouse".

Plain and simple you and I alone dont decide who is the best and rather we like it or not BOTH Heston and Wayne will go down as great actors.

I think he was a good actor. I have only seen 1/4 of his movies. My favorite being 'The Cowboys'. The matter of the fact is that he was before my time and Im not a huge fan.

I think you hate him because he represented a lot of things about America that you dont like, be honest with everybody. This has more to do with that then his acting right?

This has more to do with my reaction to some people's hero worship of a celebrity. John Wayne was a celebrity, like everyone else coming from Hollywood. He didn't do any real accomplishments beyond the screen that would normally bring a lot of admiration. I have no personal feelings about the man himself, positive or negative.

I do like him though, my favorite of his was The Quiet Man, not a western. Not the best actor but still like him.

There's a few of his films I like - though not many of those are because of his presence specifically. I do like him in Rio Bravo and El Dorado.
