Hey there! My husband and i filed our papers, I'm the petioner and my husband in Canada is the benificary. When we filed for the I-130 he used his sisters address because he knew he was moving shortly after. He is now at his new place and we want to change the address. I went to the USICS website logged in and went to the "change of address" link but all the info on that page seems to be for changing address for petioners. I did see something about the AR-11 but it asks about alien # but he dosen't have one...so im confused. ThankYou! :star:

I would just wait until you get your I-130 approval. Then you can provide the updated address for your beneficiary on the DS-230.

The I-130 is all about the petitioner anyways, so IMO you should be completely fine waiting to update the address at the next available moment (DS-230).

AR-11 is used for change of address of the beneficiary after reaching the U.S, if I am not wrong.

During I-130 process, if the beneficiary changed the address, you don't have to notify the USCIS now. When you fill the form DS-230 as part of NVC, you can include the new address.

If the petitioner changes the address during I-130, call USCIS and notify it. (After your beneficiary reaches the U.S, petitioner has to file I-865 for any change of address until your AOS obligation is over. Beneficiary will keep on sending AR-11 until he/she becomes naturalized citizen)

When your husband reaches the NVC stage he can put his new address on the DS-230.

Sure ! When he fills out his Visa Application (the DS-230) - he can put in his updated address in that form.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

First of all, your beneficiary won't get any correspondence from USCIS. NVC is the one that starts the correspondence to the beneficiary. So, when your case is approved in USCIS and transferred to NVC, you can contact NVC and update the address in their file.

Better talk to USCIS as well.

Agree with Loto; there isn't anything that will come from USCIS to the beneficiary. As soon as your petition is approved and the case is transferred to NVC you can contact them. You may be able to get through to USCIS but I wouldn't have much confidence that they will follow through. Good luck!

Your foreign spouse will not be contacted by USCIS. The 'listed address' on the G-325A is reviewed during namechecks processing (see http://www.usaimmigrationattorney.com/SecurityNameChecksAndAdministrativeReview.html for a comprehensive overview ) but nothing is sent out during USCIS processing on the I-130.

The very first time that his address is used for 'possible sending stuff' is at NVC, theorhetically (sp?) with the DS-3032 sent via postal mail from NVC. Most people avoid any DS-3032 sent via postal mail (regular VJ members) as they've copiously poured through LingChe's NVC ShortCuts in the Wiki here at VisaJourney, learned how to 'do stuff' for speed, and don't want to 'wait' on NVC to send anything to them (petitioner or beneficiary) via postal mail.

Postal mail process, for NVC, takes about 9 to 11 months. I'm guessing you don't want that, at all.

If you do want some speed, and wish to utilise the Online Payment Portal - hei ! here's a mini-how-to --> http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/221785-ds-3032-slowdown/page__view__findpost__p__3560467 - if you take the time to read that, you can see that any postal address on the foreign spouse is NOT 'asked for' until the DS-230 is submitted.
