i recently married my childhood friend, she resides in pakistan and im a us citizen

we got married in karachi pakistan. and im trying to figure out the quickest way to get her into the usa

can someone please help me?

she is pregnant and i want her to deliver the baby in usa not in pakistan.

so far i have filled out the i-130 and have all the documents needed

i was wondering if i can submit the k3 forms along with i-130 or do i need to wait for it to get approved.

also i have a criminal record, misdemeanor first offense, will that affect my application or the wait time?

im just trying to figure out whether to stay here or leave the country to go back to my wife.

thanks again

btw i apologize if im posting in the wrong place

im new to all this and its very confusing

There is no more K-3 so don't even bother filing.

Did you include the criminal records when you filed?

Good luck

I strongly suggest you give up on any notion of a viable K-3 visa, see

Comparison on K-3 vs CR-1 - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/204324-wondering-if-i-made-a-mistake-marrying-in-us/page__view__findpost__p__3060767

K-3 administratively closed - http://www.visajourney.com/news/2010/02/07/department-of-state-to-close-k-3-visas-if-i-129f-and-i-130-petitions-approved-and-received-together/

and then focus on the CR-1 / I-130 / NVC...

It is possible to ask for an expedite, to be included with the initial I-130 submittal - see

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/255138-k3-k4-visa-converted-to-cr-1-by-national-visa-center/page__p__3918125#entry3918125 but note you may or may not have any result with it.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

OP, slow down, read through the guide(s), and then make your plan. Rushing in and trying to do things quickly can lead to careless mistakes that can lead to delays.

The Guides here on VJ are great DIY outlines. Also do some reading in the regional forum to learn from others that have dealt with/ are dealing with the same embassy/consulate.

There are many people here that will be glad to help and guide you. But you must understand the process and forms to make use of that input.

Read the Guides, study the forms, read the regional forum, ask questions as needed. It worked for me, and I am confident that it will work for you.

Best of luck.

please correct me if im wrong here

so the first i need to do here is to submit an i-130 and wait for it to get approved

than apply for a CR-1 visa

correct me if im wrong, but doesn't CR-1 take longer than K3

That's sorta, kinda 'it' .

File the I-130 petition - and when that's approved -

the foreign spouse is allowed to file for a CR-1 visa via the DS-230 form, sent off to NVC.

There's more to NVC processing than just the DS-230, but

if yer fast, you can wrangle all at NVC within 2 months.

Suggest you re-read all links here, then re-factor your plan, today, before shipping anything out to the Chicago Lockbox. Take into especial consideration the one link I showed you, concerning expedite .

Reading is Important.

When I first started this process, I got me some big mondo greenbar computer paper, and mapped it all out on that, using Green Crayon. Then I did that about 4 times again, in those first 2 months, refactoring my new-found knowledge into 'the plan'.

Then I made 3 sets of this greenbar paper 'plan' , still utilizing green crayon.

One is on the wall, one is in my portfolio, one is in 'the files'.

I like this map, really, as I can show it my elder relatives - it's written in terms they understand.

HEY ! Welcome to VJ ! This is a great DIY portal for Immigration to USA, with an emphasis on 'D' and 'Y'.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
