How do you get notified when receiving the NOA1?

Do you get an email or a snail letter? Which one first?

  • 06.01.2010 - She flew from Dubai to Philippines for vacationing
  • 06.21.2010 - We met in Philippines
  • 06.24.2010 - Engaged
  • 06.28.2010 - Came back to USA
  • 07.05.2010 - She flew back to Dubai (work)

  • 08.03.2010 - Delivered to VSC. Signed by D RENAUD.

  • 04.14.2011 - K1-Visa Approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I only got snail mail. Also, if you paid by check you can see if it has cleared your bank. If it has there will be a receipt number on the back, you can use that to access your case online.

I thought that since all the packets are initially going through texas now they're not putting the case #'s on the back anymore?

Oh I wasn't aware of that. I know my case arrived at VSC right before they started sending them to Texas...I guess the only way to know for sure would be to ask someone who had their case processed from Texas. But idk why they wouldn't put the receipt number on the back, that doesn't make any sense. To the OP, it wouldn't hurt to look at your cleared check, if there is no receipt number on the back then I guess you will have to wait to get your NOA1 for it...sorry if I misinformed you.

I sent my I-129F off in early May and when the check cleared there we a lot of numbers on the back, but nothing even close to the WAC number that was on the I-797 form. So I am betting that now that the file is first processed at the Texas lockbox that the case number is not assigned until it is received by the respective service center. It probablly has to do with the way each center assign numbers or the range of numbers that they have. It is the government so it does not have to make any sense. :D

we got a NOA1 letter about 10 days after we sent the i129f. even thought we signed up for text and email we never ever recieved any! good luck with your journey

Jan 10th 2009 - Met whilst I was working in the US on a J1 Visa
July 31st 2009 - I had to leave the US (visa expired and no jobs)
Sep 5th 2009 - I returned to the US to visit for 2 months

Dec 30th 2009 - He came to England to visit me for 10 days
Dec 31st 2009 - Engaged!!! He proposed in London at midnight
Jan 2010 - Sent I-129f application

Feb 12th 2010 - received NOA1

March - I visited for 2 weeks
May 4th 2010 - received NOA2

June - I visited for 2 weeks

16th July - Medical
26th July 2010! - Interview at US Embassy in London

08-June-2010 NOA1

18-November-2010 Case Sent to Manila 18 days in AP..not too bad!

6-7 December- 2010 Medical at SLCC...PASSED!Thank you Lord!
