Well Favre is back as you probably already know...again! He claims this is really it, the last year. Yeah OK.

About seven years ago I quit paying attention to "breaking news" about Brett Favre. The "this is it" press conferences followed by "I really want to play" and then "Brett Favre shows up to training camp" is as much a part of the pre-season as watching one team pummel another and then get killed by them during the regular season.

That's just how it is. It's not news. It's not a surprise. It's not even important anymore.

But, I guess it still works because Tuesday I watched his plane touch down, the motorcade drive off, and the "breaking news" about Brett Favre once again this year. I swear it's just an elaborate plot cooked up by his agent to make sure he's still "an item." The sad thing is it's not really needed. He could be 100% silent and his numbers would speak for themselves.

I see your about as fed up with this Favre drama as me. I used to like the guy until all this came along not to mention how he treats Childress.

I think what keeps him in the headlines year after year is that he keeps putting up the numbers. A big part of me wants to see him fail this year but Im afraid a bigger part of me want him to go to the super bowl and win, only if my Dolphins aren't present.

A lot of people give him grief over his indecisiveness, but if his body was younger and not battle damaged, he wouldn't even consider retirement.

He's an excellent quarterback with great numbers. He doesn't need the drama of "I'm out... no, wait a minute... I'm back in" to be recognized yet year after year, it's the same thing.

I don't want to see him fail, but I don't think he should win the Super Bowl before retirement. He should give it a good shot and then say - at the end of the last game - "This is really it this time. I will not be back next year."

He has a ring. I know he wants another, but he's still going to be remembered as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, ring or not.

True. But he is old and body damaged. He's had a helluva run... he should hang it up after this season. In fact, he should have a press conference right now and say, "I'm giving it my all... and then I'm out." That's how you go out in style.

Either way, he'll be on ESPN or CBS next year so it's not like he's going away from the game. He may even be a coach somewhere.
