Hi,

I have just sent I-130 form to an Immigration service, for my Thai wife to come to US. I live in New York.

I was wondering ,how much time it usually takes, in average, to receive a notice to file an Affidavit of Support? And, can i stop working after i have filed an AOS?

Also, is it necessary to send pay stubs ,along with the letter from an employer and income tax returns,or tax return form with the letter from an emloyer would be enough?

How many pay stubs (2 weeks,1 months or 3 month) and how how many income tax returns are people required to send?

I really appreciate your help.

Reghards,

Rus

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Hello,

Could you please clarify, why i am not qualified to file for K-3 visa?

Is there some kind of official link, stating that K-3 Visa has been closed or discontinued?

I had consulted a lawyer ,who has suggested me to file for K-3 Visa

Thank you

Now K3 and IR1/CR1 takes more or less same time. Since you have sent I-130 petition, it is IR1/CR1 now.

Wait for I-130 approval (around 4 to 6 months), then your case will be forwarded to NVC. By the time, you need to file AOS and IV packages with them.

Also, read guides in VJ to be familiar with the process.

Sure ! K-3 administratively closed - http://www.visajourney.com/news/2010/02/07/department-of-state-to-close-k-3-visas-if-i-129f-and-i-130-petitions-approved-and-received-together/

I smell many issues here. Replies in bold.

Hi,

I have just sent I-130 form to an Immigration service, for my Thai wife to come to US. I live in New York.

I was wondering ,how much time it usually takes, in average, to receive a notice to file an Affidavit of Support? And, can i stop working after i have filed an AOS? usually, will not receive any notice whatsoever, to file AOS. However, you will know when the I-130 is approved. You must wait for this approval notice, then apprx 2 weeks after, contact NVC Hotline and 'go forth' - see the link below for the steps

Also, is it necessary to send pay stubs ,along with the letter from an employer and income tax returns,or tax return form with the letter from an emloyer would be enough? there are many things listed as 'optional' in the I-864, so you need to qualify yerself, somehow, to make that 'financial picture', with the concept that it is 'accepted at NVC' and 'evaluated at the Embassy'

How many pay stubs (2 weeks,1 months or 3 month) and how how many income tax returns are people required to send? there is no requirement, but usually the IV unit will recommend a certain # of each thing, of each type

I really appreciate your help.

Reghards,

Rus

Concept of 'stop working' - eek. I can understand the need to stop working, but you must take into consideration the time lag between 'submitting AOS into NVC' and 'AOS evaluated at Embassy, both prior to and on Interview day'. It'll be your personal choice, yer personal decision, on 'when to stop working'.
