In my case, one of derivative benificiary will turn 21 yrs in January, 2012 but NVC person said that she will still be considered under 21 and I need not worry about that. I would like to believe it but does any one have experience with this situation.

Missed ur second part...check the below link

If visas are available in your visa category before your child's birthday, the NVC may be able to expedite your case so that you and your child can immigrate together. Unfortunately, if visas are not available before the child's birthday, the NVC cannot expedite the case.

Tips and Expert Advices for Cases which are about to be complete at NVC..

  • For the I-130, you were only supposed to send COPIES.

  • With the IV package, you have to send the originals or certified copies of the beneficiary's birth certificate and the marriage certificate. And yes, you'll also need to include two more 2" x 2" photos of the beneficiary. It might seem repetitive, but that's the way it is.

  • NVC has reviewed your AOS (with no RFEs), and they automatically generate an RFE for the IV package, whether it's at NVC or not. It's a false RFE.Call an operator to confirm this

  • Call NVC three times and ask the same question: Is my IV package FINISHED being reviewed. Make sure you empathize the 'Finished'. And I say three times (at the least) because you might get varying answers.

  • Just continue calling NVC (and start with DOS now) and ask if an interview date has been scheduled for your case. You should be calling BOTH. They both have access to your file. You might find out from one source sooner than the other of your interview date, Each consulate/embassy sends a schedule to NVC of their available slots every month. NVC then proceeds to fill in all those slots with the cases in queue. So NVC schedules it, but you can find out your interview date from either NVC or DOS.And remember: operators are LYING when they say they only scheduled during the second week of each month. NVC schedule ALL month long.So even though you got your case complete yesterday, it's possible to have your interview scheduled today.

  • You will NOT get any more notifications, not from NVC, DOS, or the consulate after your case is complete at NVC. The best you can do is track it through DHL. If you want confirmation, you can call DOS as that's the only person you can talk to now. NVC no longer has your case

Good Luck...

Hi experts,

I would like to know a little bit about Police Clearance Certificates.

My case is as follows:

PD : Nov 2000

Case Completed in Dec 2010

Category : F4

Consulate: Mumbai

After retrogression, the Priority date is fast approaching and now my PD is only around 4 months away from PD.

My question is:

I submitted PCC the following during file completion

1. Passport Office

2. Commissioner's Office

3. PCC from United Kingdom (because we lived in UK for 1 year during 2008)

Now my question is whether I need to submit all the above mentioned PCCs once the PD becomes current.

Expecting your advice and thanks in advance...

Welcome vicky123..

True,Based on the cut off dates, NVC should actually process cases from Feb 2002 onwards to come back to Pr-retrogression timeline.

Yes, you have to resubmit, as the validity of these documents are only for one year..

Good Luck and do update the forum on your latest case update..

Hi visagrant do you think Feb 2002 will come back within a year or visa bulletin will advance one month for coming visa bulletin. As statistic shows after retrogration Visa bulletin come back to its previous status within six month. Waiting for big jump :)

If you analyze the visa bulletin data for the last 10 years, Right now NVC is making sure they are covering any pending/remaining filers by moving the PD every month, but actually they have already finished processing cases till Nov 2000, we can take the example of vicky123, wherein case is completed by Dec 2010 for a PD Nov 2000..My inference from this analysis should confirm your guess..

Hi Visagrant,

Just to clarify. As you said, my PD is Nov 2000 and case completed on Dec 2010. Correct.

But I am still waiting for the Interview schedule from Mumbai Consulate. As on now, it is still 4 months to go. If it moves one month every month, definitely it is going to take another 4 months. So around Feb 2012, I would like to go for new PCCs again.

Anway the PCC is valid for One Year, you can as well get it done sooner as you will be having your interview this time within the next coming year

:innocent:..Learnt something New today... For the past 10 years, VB cutoff date has been 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd...

Visagrant,

Could you please clarify more about the validity of the police certificates?

Based on the Vicky123's inquiry, your reply makes me confused.

I know that according to the US embassy/immigration website, the validity of the police certificate is 12 months. However, does he(vicky123) really need to collect his police certificate from UK (where he lived few years ago and submitted the certificate with DS230) once again if he have not visited/stayed there during the last one year? Could you please show some references about this matter?

In my understanding, if one year has expired then the applicant have to submit the police certificate/s for the places where he currently lived/stayed last one year. Does the applicant really need to collect all of his/her police certificates since the age of 16?

I might be wrong. But want to see some more references about this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Dear Visagrant,

The following statements I have found in a previous thread of visajourney:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/89465-validity-of-police-certificate/

9 FAM 42.65 N3 VALIDITY OF SUPPORTING

DOCUMENTS AND APPLICATION FORM DS-

230, APPLICATION FOR IMMIGRANT VISA

AND ALIEN REGISTRATION

(CT:VISA-914; 11-26-2007)

Supporting documents that are subject to change are valid for one year.

This time limitation applies to Form DS-230, Application for Immigrant Visa

and Alien Registration, medical examinations and police certificates from any country visited or inhabited subsequent to the previous clearances. It does not apply to a birth certificate or a third country clearance or police

certificates from an area to which the alien has not returned since its

issuance. The affidavit of support (AOS) must be submitted within six

months of its signature by the supporting relative, however, it remains valid indefinitely. However, because the AOS is based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines in effect at the time of the visa issuance, it may need to be updated.

Hi Visagrant,

What Suvro has raised is a interesting question. Basically I also had the same doubt when I initiated this query in the forum.

Regarding UK Police Clearance Certificate : Is it still necessary ? Because I lived there in 2008 and for that I had already submitted the PCCs from UK. Thereafter I did not visit UK.

Also I had covered till last year with respect to PCCs while filing Visa Application. So do I need to cover from last year to till date or is it again from the age of sixteen?

Would like to hear your comments

Thanks..

You have to submit new PCC only from your country of residence (PCCs from other countries are not required, because you didn't visit these countries since time of PCC receiving)
