we are still in danger of elimination.

They can eliminate all cases and change them into special EB category.

so they would change chain base immigration into merit based immigration with family components in it.

AP.

Good luck in AP.

I hope you would soon get your visa.

The consular officer said, "Your case is excellent. I'd even put in that it's in the United State's interest to issue you a visa and I have very little doubt that you wouldn't get visa."

We are 5 males, above 20 and one female. So it was going to be in AP anyways. I'll put in the whole interview experience later on.

Senator want to change Chain base family immigration system into merit based immigration system with family component in it.

They may change all Family based immigration petitions including F1 , F3 and F4 with their existing priority dates to special EB category with family component in that EB category.

or

They may introduce point based EB category for family based petition for future flow.

They may not change current filled and approved cases , because they are committed to clear the backlog of both EB and Family based categories.

Not so easy. This merited immigration system still cannot explain why legal immigrants are tightened at the same time 12 million illegals are merited, nor to mention those countless anchor babies. This is only a thought, maybe only the thought of Sen Lindsey Graham himself.I doubt there exists a political atmosphere which can pass it in the US congress.
