Hi Everyone! I am new to here...

I come from Hong Kong and I am 24 right now. My father's sister is an US citizen and we just got the appontment letter for the interview on April 8th. While everyone is talking about the CSPA, I am pretty sure I am not eligible because I have read so many posts and even consulted a lawyer for this case. My priority date and the approval date from the USCIS is only about 7 months. [i was really surprised that time was that fast]

So what's next? My application process was continued in the NVC, in which they asked me to turn in the DS230 form during 2010. Until last week, we got the appointment letter and I was surprised that my name was on the traveling applicants and they have asked me to submit required body check and documents during interview.

I am getting confuse because why would i get the appointment? And, what I should tell them during the interview....

Should i tell them that i studied in the states for 4 years and I really love it? begging them to let me in? [it sounds naive]

Do the US embassy actually have the power to determine a "child" to be eligible for immigrant visa?

My whole family are worried...please... anyone can help?

Thanks,

Kelvin

With the present broken immigration system, sometimes even getting called for the visa interview puts us in a dilemma..:D

Anyways..Good Luck..

A good news for family base legal immigration system.

senator reach for this mutual agreement they will reduce current backlog in 10 years and then they will gave green card to 11 million undocument illegal immigrants.

Now CIR bill can be introduce on 8th April 2013.

good news for us who are suffering from badly existing F4 backlog.

Good luck All

Off course that is very good news......but they will also going to eliminate f3 & f4 category....but it will not effect approved and pending cases..

On an Average it takes anywhere from 9-12 years for F4 applicants to get their IV based on past 15 years of Visa Bulletin.

Current Family based Visa Backlog should be eliminated within 6-8 years as suggested in Immigration Bills presented in the senate in the past. It is too early to say anything or get hyped up about this issue.

I would rather wait for the final Bill that Passes both the Senate and the House.

So is it confirmed now that approved and pending cases of F4 and F3 will not be eliminated or still there is a chance?????

Because i have not read anywhere that pending F3 and F4 cases will get visas.. the only thing which i read everywhere is Complete and Total Elimination of F3 and F4.

so WHAT IS MEAN BY REDUCING EXISTING BACKLOG????? IF YOU KNOW THIS QUESTION ANSWER THEN PROBLEM SOLVED ANd stop posting your own prediction like that....

Senator said nearly 4.3 million peoples waiting in backlog so we will reduce this backlog in 10 years. SO IF WE SEE 2.4 million F4s all over the world are waiting for their turn and remaining exist IN F1, F2A ,F3 preference categories.
