Hello, my I-130 was approve on Jul, 2009 and now NVC send DS-3032 to me on Oct, 2010. Right now i have b-2 tourist visa and i travel back and forth from Thailand to US because my family are in the US(parents and brother) my question is how long usually takes for the VISA number to become available once i receive the form DS-3032. It says soon or within 6months. My priority date is on Feb 5,2002. As of last that i check on visa bulletin the current visa is on Jan 01, 2002. If the visa becomes available soon can i adjust the status while i am in the US?

Question:

- What's the next step after DS-3032 is receive and possible time line from those who have done before.

- If in the US can i apply for adjust of status

Thanks

Mario

Interview this Friday at 7:30 am (yikes!)

Wish I could just go to sleep tonight and wake up on Saturday, approved of course... Feeling quite nervous and very impatient to get this over with! Will report back in detail - please say prayers and send good positive energy our way

mutkung, Welcome..

Call NVC(1-603-334-0700) and provide your case number to them and also update the emails of petitioner and beneficiary. In that way, you can speed up the processing time through online fee payment and email interactions rather than snail mail. Based on your priority date, you can assume that it will be current within a year time. NVC usually contacts the beneficiary 6-12 months before the visa availability, so, you can assume if you provide all the required documents proactively, then u are good to go...

For ur questions

1. After DS 3032(Choice of Agent form), you have to pay Affidavit of Support(AOS) & IV fees and then file DS230 forms, after the review is complete, you will be interviewed at US consulate in Thailand. The above process is for persons going through the consulate route. If you want to adjust within US, then there is a different process. See the links i provided in my earlier posts.

2. With your b-2 tourist visa it will be difficult and also the intent of the tourist visa will be lost. I would rather suggest u go with the interview process at US consulate/Embassy in your country.

Good Luck..:star:

Hi there,

Been visiting this site since NVC got in touch with us, thru e-mail, regarding my wife's petition. Just some of the highlights -

Priority : 01APR1990

Visa Bulletin "Update" : September 2010

Letter from NVC :

September 11, 2010 (ACL Universal and PAOSF I-130 Universal)

Pay AOS Bill :

September 27, 2010 (with Invoice/Receipt)

DS-3032 Choice of Agent :

October 1, 2010 (sent via LBC Manila)

Received by NVC :

October 8, 2010 (acknowledged by NVC via e-mail)

STD AIVF Bill :

October 13, 2010 ($404 for my wife, the principal applicant, plus me and 3 kids as beneficiaries)

*** November 24, 2010 - NVC sent a checklist regarding the case - AIVF Fee Payment, DS-230s and some question/s re: AOS ***

Payment of AIVF :

November 27, 2010. Tagged as paid on November 30, 2010.

DS-230 :

For sending early next week. Still waiting for another copy of Marriage Cert in SECPA and Birth Cert of kids.

That's all folks. Per NVC's checklist, they will need 20 business days to review our application then we'll be notified on the next step. Hope it doesn't get long before we hear from them. Delays in between were caused by, first, funds :), second, passport renewal for me and my wife and (new) for kids.

Great site by the way...information are very helpful.

Cheers!!!
