The Priority date in JUNE 2003 was 8-Jul-91, It retrogressed to 22-Mar-90 in JULY 2003.

It came back to 1-Aug-91 in AUGUST 2004. It took a complete year to return to the previous date. :(

I am eagerly waiting for next VB; maybe it can come back to 1-Jan-02.!!!!! :D

Good Day to all!

I'm Liza, my story is my grandfather filed a petition in the 90's to my father and his siblings since my granpa is an American citizen for being a veteran during the world war and just last year my father received his case number, unfortunately my granpa is already deceased and they told us that the petition is withdrawn for that matter. My question is can we reprocess the petition since my father have relatives there in the US?.If any of you have the same story as ours pls give me some advices. Thanks much

Well Since it was approved and was transferred to the NVC it seems you probably could get a family member to accept the AOS and allow for the case to be reopened, if closed.

Hope someone else can give some more info.

Welcome Lizamae...:)

You can check the below Info and the Link..Hope it might be of help..

9 FAM 40.41 N5.4 Sponsor When the Petitioner Has Died

(CT:VISA-1317; 09-24-2009)

a. The Family Sponsor Immigration Act of 2002 remedies the situation of an alien whose petitioner has died by amending INA 212(a)(4)©(ii) and INA 212A(f)(5) Public Law 107-150. The amended INA 213A ( F )(5) creates a way in which a person other than the visa petitioner can sponsor an alien.

Section 213A( f )(5)(B) now allows certain family

members to become "substitute sponsors" if a visa petitioner dies following approval of the visa petition, but before the beneficiary obtains his or her permanent residence. If the visa petition was approved prior to the death of the petitioner, the Secretary of Homeland Security (DHS), may, in its discretion, reinstate the petition for humanitarian reasons, (8 CFR 205.1(a)(i)©, and that the original sponsor's petition should not be revoked. (See 9 FAM 42.42 PN2.) The alternative sponsor must be the

spouse, parent, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sibling, child (at least 18 years of age), son, daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandparent, or grandchild of the sponsored alien, or the legal guardian of the sponsored alien. The alternative sponsor must meet the other criteria outlined in 9 FAM 40.41 N5.2.

b. Eligibility of derivative applicants seeking to follow-to-join a principal applicant who has already acquired lawful permanent resident (LPR) status is dependent on the continuing LPR status of the principal, not on the status of the petitioner. Therefore, if the petitioner dies after the principal applicant has already become an LPR and one or more derivative applicants seek to follow to join the principal applicant, the derivatives retain eligibility to follow-to-join despite the death of the petitioner, and

there is no need for reinstatement of the petition. In such circumstances, the derivative applicant seeking to follow-to-join is inadmissible unless an alternative sponsor, as described in paragraph a above, executes a Form I-864 with respect to the derivative applicant. The alternative sponsor may not file a Form I-864-EZ.

Based on the data, the only analysis which can inferred is that retrogression will last at a minimum of 6 months and should be over within 1yr..:)

Right now there is no data for Priority dates which are same for few months..This we are seeing right now..So, Still PD for F4 in March Bulletin is a Mystery..

Hi pampoo.

Sign in Failed refers to online payment portal. It is Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center; where you pay your AOS and IV fee bills.

You can Visit the site here. (Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center). You will only be able to sign in here if you paid your fees online.

CC is when you get a CASE COMPLETE. But it still needs to go through the final stage. When you get a SIF(Sign in Failure) it means NVC has completed the case at their end and you out of NVC processing and NVC will forward you case at desired consulate.

When you gt a SIF; that's a indication that you are 100% out of NVC and it is good to get a SIF!!!

Can anyone explain me what is retrogression and why it happens?

thanks

Hi agnar

Retrogression refers to the situation where previously current dates on the quota bulletin go backwards and become unavailable.

Retrogression happens because there were many applicants who filed adjustment of status in the United States, and thus the visa demands have increased sharply over the numerical limitations or supply that the Dept of State have alloted.

Retrogression can impact an individual at different times in the overall process. The individual’s priority date must be current at two critical

points in time: on the date that the I-485 application for adjustment of status is filed or application for immigrant visa at an Embassy/Consulate

is filed AND it must also be current on the date when the case is actually adjudicated (i.e., the immigrant visa cannot be issued or the

adjustment of status application cannot be approved if the quota bulletin is not current for the applicable priority date).

I am also affected by the Retrogression and NOTHING that can be done about it except to wait and pray for the best :(

GOD BLESS ALL
