How to prove a relationship in Interview

Hi Guys,

So my husband and I have our interview next week and I was wondering, to all those who have been through the interview, what kind of things you brought in with you to prove your relationship. We have emails, cards and such and also photographs but most of the photos are digital and I was wondering if you think they would object to my burning them onto a cd or just bringing my laptop in with them on there (there is A LOT of them and printing them out would be mental).

I am currently on all his bank accounts and can prove that so that's ok but I'm wondering do I need any proof from Ireland that I have bank accounts there and also my car and subsequent costs so that they can see when I came over I wasn't intending to stay.

Any advice would be great as I can get anything I need from Ireland to be sent over,

Thanks a million,

LC

They won't let you bring your laptop in and they will not put your CD into their computer. You'll have to print some pictures.

Print out your photo's as they may want to keep one or two... take as much evidence as you can get hold of to show your relationship is co-mingled... as for the proof from home... you may be asked about it or not... I had the sale deads from my home in Scotland... which was sold 3 months after I came over here on vacation....

Good Luck for the interview

Thanks Guys!

Yeah..makes sense I guess they wouldn't allow laptop or digital prints. Oh well...guess I've got to find a cheap way of printing them off...I'm not working and so every penny counts!

Are you using a cosponsor? Maybe the cosponsor will start providing some support and help pay for the prints.

I keep worrying about this proving relationship thing too - I just added James to my cable tv/internet account and am going to see if I can also add him to utilitles. He's also on my lease and we've got plenty of wedding pictures and stuff we could show on cd but since this isn't allowed hopefully when we order our wedding photos soon they will come in quickly in case we have a quick interview (here's hoping for no interview through CSC! :P). Unfortunately the SS office screwed up royally and never assigned his SSN (we applied a long time ago and have never heard back and his K1 has since expired so surely they won't give him one now) so I can't add him to any of my bank accounts. Any health insurance is pending on his EAD and him getting a job that provides insurance since I'm a student and part time worker and don't get health insurance. We have more than enough emails/various pictures/etc and could easily get a letter from my parents or the pastor that married us to certify we are really a valid relationship. I know we only just got our NOA1 and any possible interview is way off but in the event it comes soon would what I have be alright?

Many places will print pictures via the web (you can upload and pick up at Costco). We only had about 20 pictures. I made sure I had pictures of my wife and mom together.

If you have a printer id print ur own photos out.

We only took a handfull from the wedding and some from over the last few years and we printed our own. The guy doing the interview asked to see them, glanced and then said that they where OK and didnt want to keep any.

We took the stuff you listed and just took our original application and the application for AOS and he didnt ask to see any of it. Best thing to do is take as much as you can even if you think its not needed and keep it organized so you can easily pull the things out you get asked for. Chances are you will end up with a stack of documents as we did and be asked for very little. Our interview was over in minutes and was more like a formal chat than anything else. The only thing he did was call me in first, asked me to describe our bedroom then called Mandy in and asked her the same question then we just laughed and joked about the entire process and how the goverment agencies dont communicate real well with one another.

I know its easy to say but if you have made it this far on your own without any lawyers then this interview is a walk in the park. I actually felt like i was missing something because the interview went by and like i said felt more like a conversation than anything else kinda like going to the doctors for a checkup lol. So pack all that you can, keep it organized and print your own pictures and write on the back what, when and where.

If there is a walmart near, you can get the 6x4 picture paper really cheap. I picked some up for $0.99 for 12 sheets or maybe it was more i cant recall now and just printed my own on low quality. They where not the best of prints but they where pictures none the less.

Good luck and all the best with your interview.

Tom

You dont need that many!!! just a fwe pics of you guys together and if he is going with you then that's a prove too. I mean I took my wedding album but CO didnt even look at it. I have 4-5 pics print out from the computer (on normal A-4 papers ) and that's all she took.

Joint utility Bills ( gas, Electric & cell phone) my phone company or bank wouldn't add her on w/out SSN

We printed out 12 sheets of photos

-Photos of us before, during and after the birth of our beautiful daughter (L)

-Photos with us & her extended family

-Photos of us with my College room mate

We both wrote letters of our relationship, detailing How, when We met and what led to our marriage.

the letters we will also use to put in a new scrap book we created for our whole AOS/ process :)

Oh yeah and we are bringing our daughter to the interview :) if that is not sufficent evidence I don't know what is.

I use www.winkflash.com to print pics.

First order they are 5c a print, I just printed all of our wedding pics for $16 plus 99c delivery on any size order. The quality is really good too.

Usual price is 9c which is still cheap.

I'm also worried about the amount of evidence we have. We have no lease or mortgage, haven't put me on the utility bills yet but are doing so this week (still means we'll only have 1 months proof). We have joint medical cover and tons of photos, wedding cards, wedding guest book and magazine subscription in joint names, as well as joint bank accounts. I save all envelopes addressed to both of us and any bit of evidence I think might prove we are together!
