Well, the stated 5 month period is not over yet, so I figured we wait until the end of the month - you know, just to give them a chance! :P

We waited for our NOA1 for 7-8 months coz we are not really calling them all the time  chances for missing papers? Really high.

We ask for the status of our papers. Its kinda irritating really to listen to what they are saying (coz its over and over again) but you have to. It shows that you are really interested about your papers. If you will not do anything about it... they might think that you are not really that interested OR... you are not in hurry. They might put aside your papers... who knows.

I simply don't think that this would work, and looking at your timeline, you were a feb filer. One of my relative also got their NOA-2 in april who filed in FEB 2010. SLOW TREND was started from March itself. Some how march has more applications...

But just calling them would not get anything moving....because those are just customer rep. and they don't have authority of anything .... and even immigration officer would only put expediate req. if you really have a valid reason...and proof of it send to USCIS. Because those who are on phone, will not have your file handy ......

well maybe you are right BUT there are over 200, 000 applicants from all over the world and they could just easily tell you that your papers still in process. I am just saying based in our experience. I was thinking IF ONLY we tried so hard to communicate with them regarding our papers we should've received the packet right now. But instead of trying to communicate we waited because we trust them... we waited for the time line. Most of my friends told me that we should call them atleast once or twice a week but we never listen.... Nothing to lose if you will call them to check your papers right? Everything is recorded... and if you will call them and the customer rep answered they will ask you name and case # the will check your papers. Like I said there are over 200, 000 applicants from all over the world and missing papers? HIGH!

I am beginning to think it may be due to the financial state California is in, if I remember correctly all government employees do not work the first three days a month under the furlough program. :crying:

Based on that, a case that was going to take 10 months to process, thats assuming approx 21.5 working days a month will now take an additional 30 working days to process, 30 working days translates into approx 6 weeks.

Then theres the backlog, its just like being caught in a road jam, as you go past the jam you see the cars backed up on the other side and you know the poor guy reaching the end of that queue has a long wait to get through the jam. :(

That shouldn't impact federal employees. The state of the Cali's finances and budget cutbacks will only be for state employees. The folks at the CSC will be working/contracted by Washington DC.

  • 3 weeks later...

It took 2 months for us to receive the NOA2 from CSC for I-130. Usually, cause of delay is lack of evidence or there are just too many applicants. Give them a call once or twice a week.... thats what we did.

How do you get a person when you call? All I get is an automated message? I'm waiting for NOA2 since April 19, which is still within the 5 months but would like to know.

What number can I call? Do I just ask for the status of my application?

I just called 18003755283 and used option 6 and a person answered. You have to give them the receipt number that is on your NOI1

How do you check for a "touch". When I log in the website I dont' see where to click to get the last updated date. Do you have to call to get that information?

I was just wondering if anyone received any feedback from CSC regarding their i130 petition for April or any other months? I know this is a long shot here but maybe someone has some insight on what is possibly the delay in approvals. I know we are all in the same boat but maybe someone on here has first hand knowledge of the delay.

Hey ! Congrats on yer approval on 8/26/2010 !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

What can you say to them so they will actually make progress on the application?

jjjdddlll, Since your filing is so recent, they would say "You are within the processing time of 5 months. Call us back after 5 months".

Having said this, you can call USCIS at any time.
