my fiancee and i have been engage for almost a year now, we've been together for 1 year and a half, never been together physically, but we are always in each others heart everytime, what we feel for each other is true love, you know, lovemoves inmysterious ways, but there is one problem, we are thousands of miles away from each other he is in san bernardino california while im here in philippines, he want to come here to the philippines to get to know me better and meet my family and his family too (he's half american half filipino, he grew up in US thats way he didnt get the chance to meet his family here, his mom and my aunt are close friends they are the ones who introduces us to each other)but unfortunately due to financial situation in US right now, it is extremely hard for him to come here and he is still in college, so he thought he'll just petition me via k1 visa and get married in US instead, well if that will get approved i wont be a public charge of the US goverment, my fiancee might be still in college but he does have a part time job although not permanent, im a registered nurse-midwife here in philippines and my aunt and his mom works in a nursing home and hospital so i know they'll hepl me get a stable job, but there is another problem again, my fiancee does not financially meet the minimum requirements plus we've never been together physically so there is a huge chance that the k1 visa will get declined, we thought since my aunt (my father's sis) is in lomalinda california, she can be my co sponsor, but some says here in the internet that manila embassy dont accept co sponsor :( , what are we goin to do now? is there any way that they will somehow consider that the co-sponsor is my own aunt and im pretty sure she wont just let me be a public charge, she is even helped me thru college..sometimes i felt so hopeless, there is just so many obstacles for us to be together, its so hard not been able to be with ther person you truly love, the distance is killing me..we need your advices so much :help::help:

Hi there, Im Maricel from Manila Philippines undergoing thru the K1 VISA...with regards to your concern, I dont think co-sponsor is a problem, as far as I know Co-sponsor is allowed. The only thing that would decline the K1 visa is the thing that you havent meet yet your fiancee in person. Phone bills, chats and emails are proof of relationsip but its not really enough if you dont have any pictures together. Thats what theyr looking for. To prepare the documents needed for the K1 visa is hard, but you have to do it and make sure that you have all the required documents not to waste money and time. If your financially stable and he cant afford at this time to meet you, then why not see me in other countries, I mean you and your fiancee could meet half way. I have done this, im a medical technologist working here in Manila. Wag ka mawalan pag-asa, if there's a will, theres a way......GOODLUCK AND GOD BLESS

I would advise that you two not file a K1 now. It will be quickly denied and the time and money wasted and non-refunded. You two MUST meet in person.......period.

It is rare, but the embassy officers at USEM will and have accepted a co-sponsors in the past if the officers feel that the co-sponsor has a close enough relationship with the visa applicant that the sponsor will actually pay and support the applicant if necessary. Unfortunately, the consulate officers in Manila are notoriously difficult to convince and approve co-sponsors. By having an aunt and mother living close and offering to co-sponsor greatly helps the situation. See if these relatives will do this for you.

USEM doesn't allow co-sponsors in most K1 cases, however, they have accepted in some. I bet it depends on the situation and on the CO. As for the OP, you need to meet your fiance in person before sending the I-129F package.

Regarding the co-sponsor, the general rule (as has been observed from many past cases) is that if the USC Petitioner is currently a college student or a recent graduate then they will accept Co-Sponsors as the petitioner has good future earning potential.

Your bigger concern is getting the "Meeting in person" before he files the I-129f petition as it will be denied without that meeting.

Me and my wife have been through this embassy for the same type of visa you seek. I would bet or say for sure that the embassy would not accept a co sponsor.

It is totally up to the consular on that day, how they feel, good or bad. did they stay up to late the night before kinda cranky.

Also someone else can chime in here. but i would in no way mention that your mother and his aunt are friends and that they introduced you.

If i were in your shoes , first thing i would do if i was the boy is come to ph for 2 week trip, takes tons of pics! travel around the islands. when the boy gets home tell him to get another job! part time would even work.

The journey is to long and expensive to pin all your hopes and dreams on whether your co sponsor will be accepted.

gl to you.
