Jelousy. A wasted emotion to be sure but Thais are very jelouse people. Your wife was undoubtably the victum of Thai B F in the past that cheated on her. They all do this which is one reason we want farang husbands. This far outweighs the financial aspects that many believe motivates us. Almost every Thai man believes he has the right or even obligation to maintain a affair. This is a way of life in Thailand & we resent it deeply.

Bringing up your former relationship is her way of measuring your realtionship & love for her. A suggestion is to sit down with her & ask her to explain to you her definition of intimacy. Thais are not very good at these things because we are not asked to contemplate them on our own. We learn to live without that aspect of a relationship & to ask for it means outright rejection. Explain to her how you need & apply intimacy to your relationship & ask her to work on it with you. She may not realise that its ok to accept this concept.

Bringing this up all this time is simply a way of asking you if you love her & to validate her realtionship with you. This isnt possible in relationships with a Thai man. She needs to learn that there is no reason to carry the past into the present & by doing so she could & will posion the present relationship.

Thanks for the advice. I haven't seen or talked to the ex in 5 years. Last I heard she got busted for Yaa Baa in Bangkok.

I'll talk to her. It's just frustrating at times. Seems like groundhog day. :)

My wife does not bring up former girlfriends often. However, there is one who she had met once and she despises her. Even before we got married, she made me promise to never have any communication with that person ever again. I agreed, since that relationship is done and a happy wife is a happy life. From time to time, if that woman's name is mentioned (it's a common Thai nickname), she'll give me a scowl. Of course it is a matter of jealousy, so reasoning with her never helps. I just let it go and so does she.

yes, you're drunk :P

i agree with Ning on sitting her down and talkign to her about your relationship with her. assure her you are with HER, past is past. let her know that by bringing a poisonous relationship into your relationship now is going to poison it as well and she needs to stop this... she needs to focus on TODAY and the future.

also, if you have pictures of this girl, gifts from her, etc you need to get rid of... dont drag things from past around with you to the present. it's a constant reminder to wife of that relationship.

IDK your situation so please excuse if this doesnt apply but if the GF lived with you in the home you are in now with wife, that would skeeve me out slepeing in same bed etc  so definitely a redo of the bedroom is in order, whetehr you have the money or not you can chnage things to make it look different. if you do have money for changes find out what colors relax her... get the paint and go shoppign or have her make new comforter/quilts and curtains. decorations in the home picked out by GF? get rid of and let wife decorate. no woman wants to live in the shadow of a previous woman.

bwahahahaha

DH and i are also mafia players :star:

if you gave your info (receipt #s, full name, etc) to anyone on VJ under the guise that they would "help" you through the immigration journey with his inside contacts (like his sister at USCIS) ... please contact OLUInquiries@dhs.gov, and go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to report anything suspicious. Contact your congressman and senator's offices as well.
