someone who needs a job and jumps ahead of people who otherwise need to wait because after over 30 years he decides "oh i have this" hardly makes you a citizen. It makes you things that I cannot say without seriously violating the TOS on these forums. We'll just leave it at that.

So true when you think about it. By his own admission, had it not been for financial reasons, had Canada paid Australian-esque salaries [just saying], he would not have come here. Then again, it's too late to move to Vancouver, as three houses in Chicago would probably be required to purchase an apartment in Vancouver. In other words, epic fail migration wise; though I am probably guilty of this too.

Which goes back to Marc's point, where is his allegiance? Evidently if it's here, it must have materialized after 30.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I ask the same thing about why so many on here who have such a disdain for the world, marry us stupid foreigners.

The United States loves people from other countries. Didn't you post the staggering statistics earlier?

And not all foreigners are stupid by any means, just some.

This whole situation reminds me of a Dilbert comic that read:

1- At my old job we did everything better than we do it here

2- They sound like a great company. Its no wonder they fired you

1- They didnt fire me. I quit to come work here.

2- So your point is that you're a moron.

I am not talking about the United States, I am talking about your opinion. Every die-hard on here with the same views, thinks he represents the US.

So coming to be with one's spouse is moronic to you is it? Had it not been for my spouse, I would not have moved here.

I don't hate America, I discuss things others are doing better, in order to improve. Had I hated everything American, as you dislike differing opinions from those born abroad, I would not have married one.

Senator Howard 1866: Simple statement:

"Every person born within the limits of the United States, and subject to their jurisdiction, is by virtue of natural law and national law a citizen of the United States. This will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers accredited to the Government of the United States, but will include every other class of persons. It settles the great question of citizenship and removes all doubt as to what persons are or are not citizens of the United States. This has long been a great desideratum in the jurisprudence and legislation of this country."

3 groups of people of which will not be included...

Learn grammar my friend.

To read it as you take it, it should read: foreigners, aliens, and / or [who] belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers........

As the statement reads, foreigners and aliens is part of belonging to ambassadors or foreign ministers.

I know , I know. The Courts don't know what they are talking about. They should have asked Paul for legal advice.

Oh no you are quite wrong. I have good friends that live in Tasmania and Perth. Of course they don't spend all day long telling me that America should do this or that while rah rah Australia.

A. The Supreme Court did not write the law.

B. Their ruling was based on facts provided 100+ years ago. If it were brought up again, there would at least be a lot of new evidence brought to light.

C. I'm gonna say it like it is: THE SCOTUS IS POLITICALLY BIASED. It has members chosen by the president, and whichever one of the many many (2) parties in congress has more members, will ultimately decide how the court rules.

To take a page out of your book, I don't care about the biased supreme court, who rules based on their personal ideology. This is the very reason why we allow the government we the people elect, to make or change laws that are deemed necessary for the country and its future abroad. For example, closing this stupid loophole. aka a no-brainer.

This heavy reliance on the courts is why the US is going down like the Titanic. Then on top of that, it has people like yourself who claim the US is not going down at all, rather, still the envy of the free world.

Rather than be logical and pragmatic, the country bases decisions on documents written in a different era and ignores context, ignores the challenges the country is facing in the present time and finally uses cliches like Country of Immigrants to justify pretty-much anything.

I'll burn Australia down if it ever ends up that stupid.
