I-864 / I-864a Help

Hi, My mother is an US Citizen, she's filing for my and my brother. We now have to submit Affidavit of Support Form i-864.

I need advice with the following: My mother is filling taxes together with her husband. So, we don't know if he has to complete a separate form i-864a as a joint sponsor or not.

OK! Thank you a lot. One more question. I've just printed out the Cover Sheet. Do I need to wait for the i-864 to be mailed to my mother's home or I can print it out from the internet to accelerate the process. Thank you!

I just go to the VISA website to Forms, fill in the infomation on the computer and hit print. Then all you have to do is sign, and date it.

If your mom's income alone is 125% of the poverty amount, she doesn't need her husband to file. However, if any part of his income is included (filing jointly), then he needs to file also. She will need w-2's showing her income alone is enough.
