What we submitted for removing of conditions.

I want to thanks everyone for the help we received on this forum. I am posting what we submitted for the removal of conditions. My wife's two years since receiving her conditional green card were up in August '10. We submitted the I-751 the beginning of June, she was notified her biometric appointment was mid July. We received notification today, 6 Aug, conditions were lifted.

Below is the cover letter we used, personal information omitted. We were not called for an interview.

Copy of Permanent Resident Card, front and back

Check for $545

Evidences of relationship:

1.)Copy of birth certificate of son

2.)Copy of deed showing joint ownership of house

3.)Statement from joint checking account

4.)Statement of insurance benefit elections showing wife and son as covered under the policy as well as wife being the primary beneficiary

5.)Copy of 2009 Form 1040 tax return showing married, filing jointly

6.)Copy of 2009 state tax return showing married, filing jointly

7.)Marriage certificate

Affidavits are just one kind of evidence you can submit but they aren't must-have's. In fact an ex-adjudicator came here once and said that they are weak evidence because they can be so easily made up. Bottom line, they can nicely round out already compelling evidence but don't really count for much on their own accord so can be skipped if you have enough good stuff already.

That's interesting, good to know. I'd love to skip them, they are a PIA to get as compared to the actual evidence.
