Steve and Irina - wonderful! It will be great to see you three again.

Richard and Anna (Ukraine) haven't officially signed in to this thread yet, but they are also coming. They are actually neighbours of ours here in Stockbridge - as, so it turns out, are Ben and Oyinlade . :)

We are very interested and would love to come. Put us down as a definite maybe. As long as out weekend calendar between now and then doesn't kill us, we should make it.

That's great! I sure hope that you can make it - it will be great to see you again and meet Bill (Donna and I knew each other back in Canada - it was such a nice surprise to find out she has now moved to the Atlanta area as well :yes: ).

A suggestion for those who are planning on joining in on the Atlanta VJers Get-together at Noah's Ark on September 16. . .

This is a pot-luck or picnic-y type of event and so bring something for yourselves to eat and just a little bit more - and don't worry about trying to bring enough for everyone - I think if we all pool together what we do bring we will have more than enough - and if we end up with all desserts - well, that's ok too :lol: .

It might be a nice idea for those who are interested to bring some sort of dish or food that is made or served in your country of origin - it is always fun to experience some of the different cultures that we each bring with us to the United States and this way we can all share in them in a fun way. If you don't feel comfortable doing this, then that is perfectly fine as well. :) Anyway, it is a suggestion :).

Ooh how exciting, i wish i could come! my K1 interview date is 8th october, and i'll be moving to Canton, GA some time after that, hopefully before christmas 0.o but there's so much to do! Bringing two boys age 5 and 9 with me too.... pleeeease have more Georgia meetups in the future, as this sounds great!!

I wish I could come, but I'm working! I also wish that my "I" were a "we." Maybe if there's another get-together sometime next spring, I can come WITH my husband! Have a great time, everyone!

Kickapoo - sorry that you can't make it, even on your own. One of those who is coming this time attended our last event still single as he was waiting for his fiancee to arrive. That now happily married couple will be joining us this weekend! We will definitely have more gatherings in the future and hopefully you'll both be able to make it then. (If you find you are not working after all and would like to come, you are very welcome to join us :) ).

Yes -it is this weekend everyone! :dance: This is to confirm that yes, we are still getting together on Saturday, September 18th at 12 noon (the site opens at noon and is open to 3 or shortly after) for a Visa Journey get-together!

All Atlanta area VJers are welcome, even if you haven't already said you were coming :) . We appear to have around 15 to 20 people coming so far (including kids who are very welcome). The weather is supposed to be perfect - clear, low humidity, in the low 90s. The picnic area is shaded and to the right of the entrance as you pull in and there is lots of room. The parking lots are just beyond the picnic area on the same side. You can see some of the animals from the road - and a lot more when you get there so remember to bring your cameras too!

I will have a sign that says "Visa Journey" on it and will set it up by some of the picnic tables. Bring something to eat for yourself and something to share with others (it would be nice if it is a 'taste' from your or your spouse's country of origin) and bring your own drinks. I will have paper plates and napkins - and name tags so we will all recognize who is who and who belongs with whom. :P

Every body i met Was Very nice, it was Fun...

And I would say the same! It was really nice to meet you, a1v. I'm so glad you were able to make it today - and thanks for bringing the chicken biryani - it was wonderful!

We had a great turn out today and all of us had a wonderful visit with each other, enjoying lunch with some of the tastes of each other's home countries, then visiting with the animals living at Noah's Ark. We had 14 people including kids turn out, in spite of some last minute illnesses. The sky was clear, it was shady on our picnic tables under the trees - and hot in the sun. It was wonderful to meet each other face to face and we all agreed that we need to do this again - next time somewhere central in Atlanta. We also had reasons to congratulate two of our group today who had just received their green cards - offering hope for the other 2 couples waiting that theirs would arrive soon too.

A number of us took lots of photos, so I'm sure that when we have the chance to download them/upload them a few of them will end up on here to share with those who weren't able to make it this time.
